국문 초록

일국중심의 역사, 서구중심의 역사가 아니라 모든 사람들이 공유할 수 있는 역사를 만드는 것은 글로벌한 연계를 밀접하게 하기 위한 근본 조건이라 할 수 있다. 왜냐하면 특정 지역에 살고 있는 사람들이 공유된 역사를 지역공동체가 의지하는 역사로 만드는 것은 가능하기 때문이다. 그리고 지역공동체적인 역사를 많은 인류가 공유한다면 전지구적인 네트워크가 확대되어 지구화가 진행되는 세계를 한층 글로벌해지기 때문이다. 그것은 인류의 미래를 위해 바람직한 일이다. 글로벌 히스토리(Global History)를 배운다는 것은 이와 같은 유대관계를 강화하는 것이다. 본고는 접속된 세계 만들기를 위한 공유된 역사를 어떻게 구상할 것인가에 관하여 글로벌 히스토리의 관점에서 접근방법을 모색해 본 것이다. 그것은 지구화의 역사화에 있어서 실천적, 이념적인 한계를 탐색하려한 것이다. 즉 기존의 지구화 연구(Globalization Studies)에 비판적인 관점을 견지함으로서 개념화와 역사화의 필요성을 제기하려는 것이다. 다른 한편, 이를 위한 경계 획정의 가능성을 모색하는 것이다. 즉 글로벌 전망(global perspective)과 변경연구(frontier studies)의 필요성을 제기하여 학문영역 간 학제적이고 포괄적인 협업에 근거한 글로벌 히스토리 연구의 가능성을 모색하려는 것이다. 다만 그 범주는 국제관계사와 글로벌 히스토리의 접속 가능성을 모색하는 연구자의 지속적인 연구 경험에 입각한 개인적인 관점에 국한된 것이다.

영문 초록

Creating a history that can be shared by all people, neither nation-centered history nor Western-centered history can be a fundamental condition for making global collaboration even closer. Because there is a possibility that the history shared by people living in a particular area can go beyond the nation-centered history and it makes another histories that the community relies on. And if many human beings share histories of community, it will be possible to further globalize the world by expanding the global network by itself. It is desirable for the future of mankind. Learning the global history strengthens such a global relationship. This paper is to examine how to set up the frame of reference for making one earth and a connected world from the viewpoint of global history. It points out practical and ideological limits in the conceptualization of globalization. On the other hand, it seeks the possibility of historicization of the global change. In other words, it tries to raise the necessity of global perspective and frontier studies. It also envisions a frame of reference for global history based on interdisciplinary and comprehensive collaboration among academic disciplines.
