국문 초록

보험교육은 그 성격상 금융교육의 큰 틀 내에서 이루어지지는 것이 바람직하겠다. 보험 고유의 성격, 즉 리스크 및 리스크관리에 대한 이해와 보험의 본질에 대한 교육은 독자적인 영역을 유지하면서, 또 한편으로 보험의 금융적 성격에 대한 교육은 전반적인 금융교육내용과 연계시켜 진행함으로써 교육의 효과를 높일 수 있을 것이다. 보험의 전통적인 기능, 즉 손실 리스크를 전가함으로써 사고 이전의 재무적인 상태로 복원한다는 측면을 고려할 때 보험교육이 지향하는 교육목표에는 리스크 및 리스크관리에 대한 이해와 보험 메커니즘에 대한 이해가 필히 포함되어야 한다. 한편, 보험의 금융적 특성을 감안할 때 보험교육은 금융지식의 이해, 금융활용 능력의 향상, 금융활동 결정에 따른 책임 등을 논의할 필요가 있다. 효과적이고 바람직한 보험교육을 위해서는 그 교육 내용이 교육시기를 고려하여 안배되어야 할 것인데, 전체적인 교육과정을 면밀하게 고려하여 보험교육의 개선과 조정을 모색하여야 하겠다.

영문 초록

The insurance education would be desirable when it is achieved by sharing an area of financial education. While the fundamental features of insurance education, which are about risk and risk management and about the essences of insurance, are to be maintained independent; the financial characteristic of insurance education needs to be delivered also. With respect to the basic function of insurance, restoring pre-loss financial status by risk transfer, insurance education has to include the discussion of risk and risk management and essences of insurance. Considering that insurance has a financial nature, insurance education needs to deliver understanding of financial knowledge, promoting financial literacy, and responsibility following financial decision-makings. In order to have effective and desirable insurance education, contents of insurance education need to be carefully arranged considering proper education period.
