이순신 擲字占辭의 原型고증 연구

국문 초록

난중일기에는 충무공 이순신(1545-1598)장군이 임진왜란 당시의 전황 및 公私간의 여러 문제들에 대해 점을 쳤던 기록들이 남아있다. 이중에서 충무공이 직접 친 점은 擲字占으로 난중일기에는 10여개의 자세한 점사가 기록되어있다. 본고에서는 척자점 점사의 내용에 대해 고증하고 그 원모를 밝히기 위해, 이와 관련한 판본을 비교 교감해보았다. 충무공의 척자점에 관한 기록은 난중일기에 적혀있는데 그 내용을 민간에서 전해지던 윷점관련 판본들과 비교해보았다. 난중일기 초고본에 적혀있는 원래의 기록을 기준으로 삼아, 이를 유득공(1749-1807)의 『경도잡지』와 소강절척자점 그리고 필자 소장본 『六十四卦象例』를 비교한 결과 충무공의 척자점사는 판본에 따라 약간 다른 형태로 기록되어 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 특히 이중에서 상례본이 가장 유사한 판본이며 이를 중심으로 이순신 척자점의 정체를 밝히고, 그 점법의 체계와 원형을 복원해보았다. 결론적으로 충무공이 친척자점은 바로 우리 민간에서 만들어져 전승되어온 전통의 윷점임을 확인할 수 있으며, 이들 윷점 판본들 간의 비교 교감을 통해 난중일기에서 쳤던 척자점의 원형을 고증해낼 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The War Diary by Chungmugong Admiral Yi Sun-Sin (1545-1598) recorded that he had his fortune told on progress of a battle war situation during Imjin War and many different problems related to public and private matters. Out of these, a fortune telling theory which Chungmugong took in person was letter-divination, which was left with 10 detailed practice records in the War Diary. For this study herein, relevant block books were compared and cross-analyzed to conduct historical research on contents of fortune telling of letter-divination and reveal a scheme of them. A comparison was conducted on records on Chungmugong’s letter-divination written in the War Diary with block books related to Yut-divination handed down among ordinary people. Based on the original record written in the first manuscript of the War Diary, a comparison conducted on Yu Deuk-Gong (1749-1807)’s KyungDoJ apJ i and SoKangJ eolCheokJ aJ eom (letter-divination) and the author’s (六十四卦象例) shows that Chungmugong’s letter-divination were recorded in a slightly different type depending on block book versions. In particular, out of these, 64 hexagrams’ Image & Case is the most similar block book, and this served to reveal the identity of Yi Sun-Sin’s letter-divination and restore systems and archetype of the fortune telling theory. In conclusion, Yi Sun-Sin’s letter-divination was identified as traditional Yut-divination handed down among ordinary people, and this could conduct bibliographical research on archetype of letter-divination written in the War Diary by comparing Yut-divination block books.
