최근 우리나라 자녀살해의 양상

국문 초록

이 연구는 자녀살해사건이 연이어 보도되는 시점에서 최근 발생한 주요 자녀살해의 원인, 피해아동들 및 가해부모등의 특징 등을 분석하여 대책을 마련하는데 기틀을 제공하고자 한다. 연구수행을 위해 카인즈 검색서비스를 이용하여 2016년～2017년 주요 자녀살해 사건자료를 수집하여 범행동기, 살해방법, 피해아동들과 가해부모들의 특징 등을 분석하였다. 분석결과, 자녀살해의 특징은 살해 전 자녀학대가 지속적․반복적으로 이루어졌으며, 그 정도가 심각한 수준에 이르게 되면서 결국 사망에 이르게 되는 사건이 대부분인 것으로 나타났다. 피해아동들은 대부분 7세 이하의 낮은 연령이 많았으며, 자녀들 자체에서 특별한 문제점은 찾아 볼 수 없었다. 가해부모들은 대부분이 친부모였으며, 특이점은 계모에 의해 발생한 자녀살해의 경우 학대의 정도가 친부모에 의한 경우보다 더욱 심각한 수준으로 나타났다. 그리고 가해부모들은 젊은 층이 많았으며, 그들 또한 구조적․기능적으로 해체된 가정환경에서 자라난 경우가 많았다. 자녀살해의 원인을 종합해보면, 사회적 고립상황에 있는 가해부모들, 폭력의 대물림과 행동장애, 자녀양육방법의 문제, 기타 개인적 특징 등으로 파악되며, 핵가족화 현상, 빈곤 및 양육부담 등 사회적 문제도 크게 작용하는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 자녀살해는 가해부모들의 개인적 특징뿐만 아니라 사회적 요인 등이 복합적으로 작용하여 발생되는 것임을 알 수 있었다. 이와 같은 분석결과를 토대로 자녀살해의 예방책을 모색하는데 있어 가해부모들의 개인적 문제 해결뿐만 아니라 사회환경적 문제에 대한 점검이 우선되어야 한다. 그리고 부모들의 자녀양육에 관한 교육뿐만 아니라 그들의 스트레스와 갈등 조절 교육, 부모-자녀간 관계개선을 위한 프로그램 마련, 저소득층 가정의 부모들에 대한 사회적 지원책 등의 대책이 필요할 것이다.

영문 초록

Filicide are clearly distinguished from other murder cases in terms of motives and forms and have tremendous influences on the society. Therefore, In the wake of recent cases of parents abusing and then killing their children, this study set out to analyze the causes and characteristics of major post-abuse murder cases of children in 2016-2017 and search for preventive measures. When the characteristics of post-abuse murder cases of children are put together, it is apparent that what led the children to death was not momentary acts of abuse but long, consistent, and repetitive abuse at a serious level.They are subjected to ongoing serious physical abuse, it is more likely that they will endure it no more and end up getting killed. Most perpetrators of child abuse and murder cases were their biological parents. Stepmothers inflict serious and problematic abusive acts on their young children, who can get killed by their severe abuse. The general characteristics are as follows, many of abused children were seven years old or younger. As for the causes of post-abuse murder cases of children, it was first found that the perpetrators were young parents in their twenties or thirties. They were unwed single mothers or were not prepared to be a parent, thus being in huge shortage of parenting skills. One of the common features among the perpetrators was that they were in a situation of social isolation that made it difficult for them to lead a social life. People in social isolation may make an extreme decision when their personal and collective circumstances grow even worse. Complex motives work behind biological parents abusing and killing their children including the personal characteristics of perpetrators such as the inheritance of violence and behavioral disorders, the discipline issues, the trend of nuclear families, and poverty and burden of parenting. It is critical to understand that filicide occur by the complex operation of those factors above and that there is the integrated work of individual, family and socia l․cultural aspects behind child abuse. Based on the case analysis results, the study proposed the followings to prevent child abuse and murder: there is a need to child-rearing methods, parents stress and conflict control education, programme for improving parent-child relationships. it is critical to offer low-income parents supports and aids and also education and training about parenting methods.
