영문 초록

Five sets and one set of primers were synthesized to amplify and to sequence the 16S and 5S ribosomal(r) RNA genes from Leptospira(L.) interrogans serovar bratislava, canicola, grippotyphosa, hardjo-bovis, icterohemorrhagiae, pomona, and L. bifelexa serovar patoc, respectively. About 1,500 bp for the 16S rRNA genes and about 380bp for the 5S rRNA genes were amplified from each serovar of L. interrogans and L. biflexa by PCR assay. The 16S rRNA genes consist of about 1,508 bp and the homology among each serovar of L. interrogans was about 99%. The homology between L. interrogans and L. biflexa was about 92%. The 5S rRNA genes composed of 117 bp, and the alignments of sequence among L. interrogans, L. biflexa and Leptonema illini were identical. This study indicated that analysis of the 16S rRNA sequences is a valuable tool for the study of phylogeny and toxonomy of L. interrogans.
