국문 초록

본 연구에서는 조선시대 재산상속 및 조상봉사 의식 변화의 사례연구로 영해지방의 신안주씨 주운가문의 입향 배경과 성장 과정을 살펴보고자 한다. 또한 이 문중의 분재기를 분석하여 16~18세기의 재산상속과 조상봉사 의식 및 변화를 다음과 같이 규명하였다. 주운가문은 14세기 영해 정착하면서 사족으로 성장하기 시작한다. 이후 17세기에는 영해지방의 막강한 재지사족과 혼인, 출사를 통하여 사회·경제적 기반을 확립하게 된다. 주운가문의 분재기를 살펴보면 16세기 재산상속은 자녀를 차별하지 않고 균등하게 상속하였다. 이처럼 균등하게 상속을 할 때 자녀는 제사를 돌려가며 지내는 경우가 많았는데 이 가문의 경우 상속은 균등하게 분배를 하였고, 제사는 장자가 지낸 것으로 나타났다. 그러다가 17세기이후 상속과 제사가 장자 중심으로 바뀌었다. 이러한 변화와 맞물려 딸보다 아들에게 더 많은 재산이 지급되게 되었고, 특히 제사를 승계받은 장자에게는 집중적으로 상속하게 된다. 18세기 주운가문은 사회·경제적으로 쇠퇴기에 접어들면서 위기를 맞게 된다. 하지만 위기상황에서도 친자식 중 장자에게 상속을 집중하며 조상봉사를 더욱 강화해나갔다. 이처럼 평균상속에서 차등상속으로 변화된 가장 큰 원인은 유교 윤리의 이해와 확산으로 인한 제사 관행의 변화 때문이었다. 또한 이러한 상속제도의 변화는 자녀에게 지속적인 평균상속으로 인한 재산 감소를 막을 수 있었고 유교 윤리에 부합하는 부계 중심의 가족으로 바꿀 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This article as a research of consciousness change about property inheritance and ancestor worship in the era of the Joseon dynasty,We take a investigate of Yeunghae area Shian Chu Woon-Family s settlement background and analysis division of property of Chu Woon-Family,also make sure about the 16th~18th century property inheritance& ancestor worship consciousness change. Chu Woon-Family was put down roots and became a Intelligentsia in Yeunghae at 14th century and via married with local reputed Family got the social position at 17th century. From division of property record Chu Woon-Family we know a turth that property inheritance without diference for his children during 16th century . The memorial ceremony for ancestor was in turn ,and let more property to the eldest son offer sacrifices to ancestors.until middle of the 17th century the eldest son became central of property inheritancea and memorial ceremony and it s mean sons will get more property than daughters.At 17th century although they Facing the crisis and gradually declined of his family meanwhile they insist this rule.I do think this is the confucianism impact traditional ancestor worship.The most important of differency property inheritancea not only can break the average inheritance bad influence but also let the Family meet the requirement of confucianism.Even though this study there are some shortcomings but i still hope it can filling this gap of investigate of Yeunghae area Shian Chu Woon-Family s and become a footing stone of Research on Yeunghae area rural social history.
