영문 초록

This pa is a study of No Korean literature after thes. The of Juche“ Líteroture was published in 1992. lt was partially based on “the theory of sociaI-political life (사회 정 쳐적 생명 체론). North Korean theorists c1aìnd that people s politica1 lives are more important than their physical lives. They argued once and again the importance of “leader-figuration 1iterature (수령형상문학) in order to clfy the reason for the successor-figuration ter Kim Il-sung; the 1K)s began the period of Kim Jong-il (l 994.7~present). According to new ideas from The 7heOlγ qf J， he-Literoture, 야úple were intended to cohere with the leader and the Worker s Party (조션로동당). They have one life. They believe in only one community with a common destiny. North Korean writers obey their leader’s orders and write propaganda for the continuity of the North Kor system. Kim Jong-il demanded in December, 19. that his writers etllally accompany the leader and the Worker’s Party. The idea of “etemal company brought forth “com따ly-literature (동행자문학). This means that the protection of Kim s system is the first consíderation over anything else. These ideas are meant to prevent the North Korean regime from co]]apsing, although an immediate fαxi shortage and longer• tenn economic woes may be dcting the initial stages of a collapse. In the post-Kim Il-sung 3， Songun polics were advocah by m Jong-il. lt is the military-frrst p이itics of regarding the mi1itaIy as the first and foremost state aff;r， and directing energy to strengthen the military on the basis that the military is the foundation of national defence. This idea brought forth “ Son밍m-revolution literature (션군혁 명 문화). Then the economic situation grew worse in North Korea. The capi stic idea prevailed gradually at “‘f킹1Jler’ s m kets (장마당). People s revolutionary thoughts were corrupu펴. Therefore, the rpes of characters with lower levels of revolutionæγ thought come out, escially in the literary works of the 2αX)s. Thus, the influence of ideological stiffness is slowly decreasing‘ Nonetheless, North Korean writers are still playing an important role for the sake of the North Korean system.
