초등학교 영어과 다문화 지도 프로그램 개발

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 학생들이 수업시간에 배우는 의사소통 활동을 각 문화적 상황이나 상대에 따라 적절하게 행할 수 있도록 가르치는 것이다. 또한 영어권과 비영어권 국가들의 다양한 문화를 소개하여 학생들이 문화가 다양함을 깨닫고 이해하며 우리 문화의 특징을 보다 잘 이해하는데 도움이 되는 언어와 문화가 통합된 의사소통 중심 다문화 지도 프로그램을 개발하는 것이다. 이러한 문화 지도 프로그램 개발을 위해서 교사와 학생을 대상으로 요구 조사를 실시하고, 유네스코에서 실시하고 있는 Cross-Cultural Awareness Program(CCAP)수업을 분석하였으며 6학년 교과서를 분석하였다. 여러 분석 결과를 바탕으로 문화 지도 프로그램을 개발하였다. 사용된 연구 도구는 조사 도구(요구 조사 설문지와 CCAP수업 분석지), 프로그램 개발 도구(의사소통 기능과 문화 자료 분석지, 대화문 분석지, 문화 주제와 지도 방법에 관한 설문 결과)와 프로그램 평가 도구(교사용과 학생용 평가 설문지) 등이었다. 위의 과정을 통해 지도할 10개 나라, 10가지 문화 주제와 9가지 문화 지도 방법을 선정하였다. 선정된 내용을 바탕으로 단원별 문화 목록을 만들고 2차시분의 적응프로그램, 16차시분의 본 프로그램, 1차시분의 정리프로그램을 계획하는 문화 아이디어 카드를 작성했다. 제작된 문화 지도 프로그램을 현장 교사와 학생을 대상으로 평가하여 프로그램 수정․보완의 기초로 삼았다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to develop the cross-cultural program which was applicable for sixth-grade English classes and was integrated both culture and language into the classes. For the selection of the culture items in the program development, need analysis through questionnaires were distributed to both English teachers and sixth-grade students. And then Cross-Cultural Awareness Program(CCAP) class analysis was conducted. After that, communicative functions, linguistic patterns, cultural elements and contents presented in the textbook were analyzed. The used research tools were finding tools, program development tools and program evaluation tools. The finding tools were need finding survey and CCAP class analysis table. The program development tools were communicative functions and cultural elements analysis table, dialog analysis table, the result of survey about culture theme and culture teaching methods. The program evaluation tools were evaluation questionnaires for teachers and students. Based on the results of various analyses, cross-culture instruction program was designed to integrate both culture and language into the classes. First, ten countries, ten culture topics and nine culture teaching methods were selected through various analyses. Second, culture contents were listed and culture teaching method cards for two periods adaptation programs, sixteen periods main programs and a period consolidation program were designed. The program evaluation was conducted by English teachers and students for reflection of their needs, contents and methods. The feedback from evaluation were used to revise and improve the program
