국문 초록

이 논문은 2000년대 이후 한국학계에서 이루어진 고조선사 연구 동향을 검토한 것이다. 2000년대 이후 고조선사 연구가 이전에 비해 크게 증가된 것은 중국의 동북공정과 이에 대한 한국학계의 대응이라는 외적인 측면과, 한국고대사 연구자의 수적 증가와 이들에 의한 연구의 다변화, 연구 수준의 향상이라는 내적인 측면에 기인한 것이다. 또한 이 분야에 연구비가 많이 책정되면서 고조선사를 체계적으로 연구할 수 있는 배경이 조성되었다. 2000년 이후 국내학계에서 나온 고조선 관련 논문은 대략 476편이다. 이중에서 단군신화와 관련된 것이 145편으로 약 30%를 차지한다. 단군신화가 고조선의 시작을 다루고 있을 뿐만 아니라 한국인의 정체성과 관련된 것이기에 역사학 이외에 문학·철학·정치학·민속학 등 다양한 분야에서 연구가 이루어졌다. 단군신화 이외의 고조선 관련 논문은 320여 편 정도가 된다. 문헌 중심의 연구가 여전히 강세를 이루고 있지만 사료의 한계를 극복하기 위해 고고학적 연구 성과를 접목시키려는 연구도 하나의 흐름으로 자리 잡았다. 또한 중국 동북지역의 발굴 성과가 지속적으로 나오면서 고고학계에서 고조선에 대한 연구를 주도한 측면도 있다. 역사학·고고학 두 분야에서 접점을 찾기 위해 활발하게 학문적 교류를 한다는 점에서 이런 연구 경향은 매우 긍정적이라고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

This paper has been attempted to review research trends of Gojoseon history, which have taken place in the world of Korean studies since 2000 s. Since then, we have seen a much more increase in researches on Gojoseon history than ever before. Such a growing trend is probably attributable to both external and internal factors; Firstly, the community of Korean studies has been quick to respond to China s daring launch of its so-called Northeast Project. Secondly, there has been a rise in the number of researchers involved in ancient Korean history, thus diversifying their studies more and improving them to a new higher level. Furthermore, a recent rise in those research funds has set the scene for conducting a more systematic study on Gojoseon history. Since 2000, about 476 theses related to Gojoseon have been produced from the domestic academia, out of which 145 ones have been associated with Dangun myth, accounting for about 30%. Dangun myth not only addresses the beginning of the Korea s first kingdom Gojoseon, but also is strongly related to Korean identity. So, in addition to historical studies, it has been actively studied in other various fields such as literature, philosophy, politics and ethnology. Besides Dangun myth, there have been also about 320 papers on Gojoseon. Literaturebased researches have been still dominant, but there have been also many attempts to overcome the limits of historical materials by incorporating archeological study outcomes, thus taking root as another new course of study in this field. What is more, with continuous results coming from excavation in the Northeast regions of China, the archaeological community has taken the lead in study in one respect. Such research trend seems to be very positive in that it has contributed to active scholastic exchanges between two fields; history and archeology.
