중학생의 미술표현학습에서의 몰입경험 과정과 핵심요인에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 중학생의 미술표현학습 과정에서 이루어지는 몰입경험을 근거이론의 연구방법으로 탐구한 것이다. 몰입경험을 연구과제로 설정한 이유는 미적체험에 의한 학생의 변화와 성장이라는 미술학습의 내재적 가치와 의미들을 학생들의 몰입경험에서 찾을 수 있다고 보기 때문이다. 연구문제는 첫째, 중학생은 미술표현학습에서 어떠한 과정을 거쳐 몰입을 경험하는가? 둘째, 중학생의 미술표현학습에서 몰입경험을 이끌어가는 핵심은 무엇인가?이다. 실제연구는 중학생 20명과의 심층면담을 진행하고 자료를 수집하였고, 자료분석 결과 191개의 개념과 52개의 하위범주, 18개의 상위범주가 구성되었다. 몰입과정은 혼란단계-모색단계-문제해결단계-성취단계로 나타났다. 중학생은 미술표현학습에서 표현의 어려움을 해결하는 과정에서 몰입하였다. 학생들은 표현의 어려움에서 벗어나 몰입하여 작품을 완성함으로써 만족과 뿌듯함을 느낀다. 중학생의 표현학습에서 몰입경험을 이끌어가는 핵심은 ‘자유로움과 재미’로 표현의 어려움에서 벗어나 몰입으로 빠져들기’로 나타났다. 자유로움과 재미는 표현학습의 전과정에 걸쳐서 몰입경험에 영향을 주는 요소이다. 자유로움과 재미는 학생들의 내적동기와 자발성을 유발하여 표현의 어려움을 해결하는데 긍정적인 역할을 한다. 본 연구 결과 미술표현학습 과정에서의 몰입경험은 학생이 미적체험을 하도록 함으로써 학생의 변화와 성장을 이끌어낸다. 미술표현수업에서 학생의 자유로움의 조절과 개별 학생의 특성을 고려한 다양한 지도방법을 적용할 것을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

This study is based on the investigation into the flow experiences of middle school students through art expression learning. Flow experience is selected due to the investigator’s firm belief in realizing it by letting out students’ inherent values through aesthetic experiences. The research is as follows: First, through what process do middle school students experience flow in art expression learning? Second, what is the core factor of motivating students to focus on flow experience? The research involved in-depth interviews with 20 middle school students and the collected data was divided into 191 concepts, 52 subcategories, and 18 upper categories. The result is that middle school students’ flow process found to be developed from confusion, discovery, problem-solving to achievement stages. They immersed themselves in the stage of solving difficulties. Students’ satisfaction realized by overcoming difficulties by themselves through undisturbed freedom and fun. Freedom and fun were the elements to influence their flow experiences throughout the entire process of expression learning. Freedom and fun induced intrinsic motivation and spontaneity in the entire process of expression, playing a positive role in their resolution of difficulties with expression. The findings demonstrate that the flow experiences the students have in the process of art expression learning help them to have aesthetic experiences and thus undergo positive changes and growth.
