노숙인의 노숙 경험적 특성과 심리사회적 특성이 자기효능감에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

기존 노숙인 관련 연구들이 대부분 노숙의 발생원인과 노숙기간의 장기화 및 노숙 만성화 등의 주로 문제의 실태를 분석한 것에 머물렀던 한계를 극복하기 위하여, 본 연구는 노숙인의 자활의지를 구성하는 중요한 관련 요인인 자기효능감의 수준을 분석함을 목적으로 한다. 주요 독립변수로는 노숙 경험적 특성 요인(노숙생활의 적응도, 노숙기간, 현재 근로활동 여부, 자활사 업 참여경험, 노숙이탈 실패경험, 취업 실패경험)과 심리사회적 특성(사회적 지지, 사회적관계망 크기, 관계망 중 노숙 동료의 비중, 알콜중독, 우울증상)을 고려하였다. 연구결과, 노숙적응도가 낮을수록, 노숙이탈 및 취업 실패경험이 많을수록, 알콜에 의존할수록, 우울증이 심할수록 노숙인의 자기효능감은 낮았으며, 현재 근로활동을 하고 있는 경우 자기효능감은 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로, 본 연구는 주거취약계층에 대한 안전망 강화를 통해 노숙을 예방해야 하고, 노숙인들의 우울과 알콜중독 등 정신건강에 대한 보다 근본적인 개입이 요구되며, 노숙인의 자활을 위한 단계적 일자리 정책이 개발되어야 함을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to examine the self-efficacy level of the homeless people, which consists of the crucial part of self-reliance, in order to overcome the limitation of the existing studies that have focused upon the chronic phenomenon of the homelessness. Major independent variables entered the empirical analyses include factors related to homelessness experience (e.g.,adaptability, duration of homelessness, employment status) and socio- sychological factors (social support, social network, alcohol abuse and depression). The results have found that the level of self-efficacy I lower when there was high adaptability of homeless, a longer period of homeless, more experienced in homeless breakaway and employment failure and heavy alcohol addiction or depression. Based on these findings, the research suggests the importance of preventive programs, more active interventions on the mental health problems of the homeless people, and the development of job-creating programs for self-reliance.
