국문 초록

서울굿 구조의 변화와 그에 따른 음악 특징을 살펴보기 위해 거리 구성과 이에 대응하는 음악 구성에 초점을 맞추어 논의를 전개하였다. 서울굿의 기본 구조를 근원적으로 파악하고자 󰡔朝鮮巫俗の硏究 上󰡕과 󰡔朝鮮巫俗の硏究 下󰡕를 통해 일제강점기에 이루어진 서울굿의 연행과 음악의 구성을 살펴보았고, 현행의 서울굿은 현장의 연행 사례를 통해 살펴보았다. 󰡔朝鮮巫俗の硏究 上󰡕과 󰡔朝鮮巫俗の硏究 下󰡕에서 서울굿의 거리 구성은 재수굿(천신굿)과 진오기굿(사령제) 모두 열두거리를 기본 구조로 삼으며, 푸닥거리인 소무제(小巫祭)는 4거리로 축약되고, 사경제인 대무제(大巫祭)는 36거리로 확대되어 구조화된다. 현행의 서울굿은 굿의 목적에 따라 천신굿 계열은 재수굿을 기본 구조로 삼고, 진오기굿 계열은 진진오기굿을 기본 구조로 삼아 거리 구성과 음악 구성이 구조화된다. ‘서울굿 열두거리’는 12라는 숫자의 실현이 아니고, 부정으로 시작하여 뒷전으로 마치는 큰 틀 안에서 굿의 목적과 내용, 규모 등에 따라서 정해지는 일정한 거리의 배열이다. 서울굿에서 구조적인 확장은 안굿(재수굿)과 밖굿(진오기굿)을 하나의 굿으로 연행하는 안안팎굿과 이틀에 걸쳐서 안당사경치기(재수굿)와 새남(진오기굿)을 연행하는 새남굿에서 나타난다. 특히 새남굿은 무가와 삼현육각의 악곡들을 거리 구성에 따라 다양하게 활용하면서 규모나 내용면에서 가장 극대화된 서울굿을 보여준다. 중디밧산 거리에서 중디청배, 중디밧산무가, 중디노랫가락 등이 불리는 것과 상식에서 명두청배가 불리는 것은 독창적인 장단 구조와 가창방식, 음악의 중첩과 반복 등 음악 구성을 통해 서울굿의 구조적 확장을 이루는 부분이다.

영문 초록

This research focuses on the composition of Geori and the according composition of music in Seoul-Gut in order to approach the structural change in Seoul-Gut and its following musical characteristics. To fundamentally understand the basic structure of Seoul-Gut, 󰡔朝鮮巫俗の硏究 上下󰡕was used to analyse the performance and musical composition of Seoul-Gut during Japanese Colonial Era while actual Gut performances such as Jaesu-Gut, Jinjok-Gut, Jinjinogi-Gut, Ananpak-Gut and Saenam-Gut were reviewed to analyse the actual performances currently being held. In 󰡔朝鮮巫俗の硏究 上下󰡕, the basic structure of Seoul-Gut is composed of 12 basic Geori in both Jaesu-Gut (Chonsin-Gut) and Jinogi-Gut (Saryung-Je). Somu-Je, which is a Pudak-geori, is contracted into 4 Geori while Daemu-Je which is a Sagyung-Je is expanded and structured into 36 Geori. Regarding the structure of Geori and the music of Guts currently performed, the Guts’ basic structure vary depending on the purpose of the Gut. Jaesu-Gut is used as the basic structure for Chonsin-Gut types while Jinogi-Gut types use Jinjinogi-Gut as basis with additional Geori and music supplemented. Even though Seoul-Gut has the 12 Geori structure as its basic structure, the main focus of its structure is actually not on the fulfillment of the number 12. It rather means that the Gut is composed with regular Geori according to the Gut’s purpose, content and size within the large structure that starts with Bujong and ends with Dwitjon. The expansion in the musical composition can clearly be seen in Guts where Jaesu-Gut and Jinogi-Gut is combined. Such Guts include Ananpak-Gut Saenam-Gut while the expansion of musical composition is maximized in Saenam-Gut which has the most expanded scale. Ananpak-Gut organically combines An-Gut (Jaesu-Gut) and Pak-Gut (Jinogi-Gut) and finishes the Gut in a single performance while Saenam-Gut performs Andangsagyungchigi and Saenam which each corresponds to Jaesu-Gut and Jinogia-Gut throughout two days. The musical expansion in Saenam-Gut is entirely held at the second day during Chon’gunsaesam. Samhyun’yukgak is performed since the Jajinhan’ip of Geosang’ak utilizing all the transmitted melodies of Gyeonggi Samhyun’yukgak. On the other hand, Muga (shamanic melodies) in this case shows a structure of introducing a new melody or repetitive composition. Especially in Jungdibatsan-Geori the expansion of Seoul-Gut can be seen not only in its musical composition but also in the aspect of its musical content. Such expansion is clear in the observation that the Jungdi-Chongbae, Jungdi-Batsanmuga and Jungdi-Noraetgarak are performed in a unique rhythmic structure and a unique singing method. Also the overlapping performance of Myungdu-Chongbae in Sangsik is another aspect of the expansion.
