<오양선>정재 재현의 실제와 변천 양상

국문 초록

본고는 궁중정재 <오양선(五羊仙)>의 재현과 그것의 변화양상을 살펴보고, 이를 통하여 정재 재현의 문제점과 보완점을 제언하고자 한다. 더불어 <오양선>의 올바른 재연을 위해 기초자료를 제공하는데 목적이 있다. 본고에서는 <오양선>이 시작된 고려시대부터 현재까지 <오양선>의 연행 양상을 살폈다. 첫째 󰡔고려사󰡕 ｢악지｣․ 󰡔악학궤범󰡕․󰡔정재무도홀기󰡕 등의 문헌을 통해 <오양선>의 구성 양식을 도입부․진행부․종결부의 세부분으로 나누고 비교․분석하여 고려시대부터 조선 말기까지 오양선의 변화양상을 살펴보았다. 둘째 <오양선>이 재현된 1980년 공연영상을 분석하고 문헌과의 비교를 통해 문헌기록에 충실한 올바른 재현이 되었는지 살펴보았다. 셋째로 <오양선>이 재현된 1980년 이후 현재까지 재연된 <오양선>의 변천양상을 파악하기 위해 그동안 국립국악원 무용단에 의해 공연되었던 <오양선>에 대해 시기별로 면밀히 검토해 보았다. 그리하여 각각의 문헌에 근거한 공연으로 나누어 문헌의 내용과 재연된 공연들을 비교 분석하는 방법으로 시대적 흐름의 양상을 살펴보았다. 넷째로 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 올바른 정재 재현을 위한 제언을 하였다. 그 결과 <오양선>은 1980년 재현 이후, 어느 한시대의 문헌에만 치우치지 않고 공연의 기획에 따라 다양하게 연행되어 왔다. 전반적으로 문헌 기록을 바탕으로 충실히 재연하고자 하였음을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 문헌의 심도 깊은 연구와 시간적, 공간적, 물적, 인적인 제약들로 인한 문제점도 볼 수 있었다. 먼저 이러한 점들이 해결됨으로써 올바른 정재재현과 계승이 가능할 것임을 제언하였다. 또한 무엇보다 중요하게 고려되어야할 점은 춤 전공자 뿐 아니라 일반관객들이 같이 호응하고 향유할 수 있는 정재가 되도록 관련 노력과 연구가 다각도로 검토되고, 실행되어야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine changing patterns in reproductions of a type of court dance called Oyangseon to identify alterations in its presentation over time and to provide basic data for correct reenactments. Changes in performance of the Oyangseon from the Goryeo Dynasty, when it was first performed, to the end of the Joseon Dynasty and to the present were identified by first dividing the organization of the dance into three main parts: introduction, development, and conclusion. Comparative analyses were then conducted on each part by evaluating performances against enactment information from the reference books Goryeosa, Akji, Akhakguebeom, and Jeongjaemudoholgi. A videotaped performance of the Oyangseon from 1980 was compared to the information in the reference books to assess whether it was correctly reproduced and remained faithful to those written records. Then, versions of the Oyangseon performed to date by the National Gukak Center dance company were analyzed against the reference books to identify changes in the patterns that have been performed from 1980 to the present. Results revealed the Oyangseon has been performed in various ways since 1980 in accordance with the planning of each performance, without reliance on the literature from a specific text or historic period. Overall, the reenactment of the Oyangseon has tended to be faithful to the written records. However, a lack of in-depth research on the literature, and temporal, spatial, material, and human limitations revealed some inaccuracies in performances. The study findings also suggest that the court dance can be correctly reproduced when these problems are resolved. In addition, and perhaps most importantly, the outcomes indicate it is necessary to gather input from a variety of sources, including research, to enable dance majors and general audiences to respond to and enjoy the court dance together. Based on the findings of these analyses, suggestions for the correct reproduction of the court dance are presented.
