학생의 일상생활 경험과 역사 지식 형성의 연관성 탐색

국문 초록

그동안 역사교육에서 학생의 역사지식 형성은 주로 학교교육 내에서 논의 되었다. 이 글에서는 학생의 일상생활 경험이 역사 지식 형성에 어떻게 연관되는지를 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 학생의 일상생활과 그것에 바탕이 되는 생활세계의 의미를 고찰하였다. 그리고 학생의 역사 지식형성의 바탕이 되는 일상생활 경험들을 분석하고, 학생이 형성하는 역사 지식을 살펴보았다. 학생의 일상적인 생활은 학생이 관계맺고 있는 역사와 자연, 그리고 다양한 사회적인 관계 속에서 이루어지는 것이다. 또한 이 같은 사회문화적인 관계맺기 속에서 형성된 학습자들의 삶은 가치와 신념이 내재되어 있는 총체적인 경험세계이다. 학생은 일상생활 속에서 자연적 태도와 상호주관성을 형성하는데, 이것은 자신뿐만 아니라 주위 사람과 친구, 동시대인을 이해하는 바탕이 된다. 또한 일상생활 속에서 경험하는 역사성은 자연적 태도, 상호주관성과 더불어 역사적 사고의 바탕이 되며, 역사 지식 형성에 중요한 역할을 한다. 학생은 일상생활 중 의식작용, 일상생활, 생활세계에서 역사성을 경험한다. 학생이 경험하는 역사성은 학생 생활 속에서 일상이고, 자연적 태도이며, 무의식적으로 작용한다. 역사성은 학생의 생활이 단순한 것에서 복잡한 것으로, 개인적인 것에서 사회적인 것으로 변화, 성숙하는 과정속에서 드러나며, 학생의 현재 역사적 사고에 영향을 미친다. 학생이 일상생활 경험에서 형성하는 역사 지식은 사적 역사, 일상생활 역사, 생활세계 역사 지식이다. 비록 이들 역사 지식들이 공적 역사 지식과는 차이가 있지만 취학 전, 저학년 학생은 물론 일반 학생도 일상생활 경험을 활용하여 역사를 학습할 수 있다는 가능성을 시사한다.

영문 초록

Meanwhile the composition of history consciousness of students in history education has been discussed in school education. In this article, it was reviewed how everyday life experiences of students had been related with the composition of historical knowledge. To do this, we reviewed daily lives of students and the meaning of the world of life. And then we analyzed everyday lives that became the foundation of their historical knowledge and reviewed their historical knowledge that students composed. Everyday life of students is made in the relationship with history, nature and various social relationships. Additionally, the life composed in social and cultural relations making is the world of holistic experience where value and faith are embedded. Students compose natural attitude and mutual subjectivity in everyday life and it becomes base to understand themselves as well as neighbors, colleagues and contemporary people. Additionally, historicity that students experience in everyday life becomes the base of historical thinking with mutual subjectivity and plays important role in the composition of historical knowledge. Students experience historicity in operation of awareness, everyday life and world of life. Historicity that students experience is just daily life and natural attitude, and it acts unconsciously. Historicity shows when life of the students change from simple to complicated and from individual to social, so to speak during the maturing process. It affects the present historical reasoning of students. Historical knowledge students compose in everyday life experience is private history, everyday life history and historical knowledge of world of life. Although this historical knowledge is somewhat different from public historical knowledge, it suggests that higher grade students as well as preschoolers and lower grade students can learn history utilizing everyday life experiences.
