국문 초록

언어 발달 지연 및 결함으로 인해 보완대체의사소통(alternative and augmentative communication, AAC) 적용이 필요한 자폐범주성 장애 아동을 위한 가족-중심 AAC 중재는 그 필요성이 강조되어왔으나 실제 적용 연구는 매우 부족하다. 따라서 본 연구는 가정에서 자폐범주성 장애 아동을 대상으로 가족-중심 AAC 중재를 사례 연구로 실시하여, 아동의 의사소통 시도 및 형태의 변화를 살펴보고, 심층 면담을 실시하여 중재를 통한 가족의 경험 및 인식 변화를 질적으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 가족-중심 AAC 중재를 통해 대상 아동의 의사소통 시도가 증가하였으며 아동의 의사소통 형태도 변화하였다. 특히, 거의 나타나지 않았던 자발어가 증가 하였다. 둘째, 심층 면담을 실시한 결과, 연구에 참여한 부모는 가족-중심 AAC 중재를 통해 가족의 스트레스 감소 및 아동의 문제행동 감소, AAC에 대한 이해 등을 경험하였기에 가족-중심 AAC 중재를 긍정적으로 인식하였다. 본 연구의 의의는 전문가가 개별 가족의 가정을 직접 방문하여 가족의 일상을 중심으로, 가족이 AAC 중재의 주도적인 역할을 하도록 하는 개별화된 가족 중심 AAC 중재를 실시하여 그 효과를 알아본 것이다.

영문 초록

Children with autism spectrum disorders can be faced with many problems due to limited communication abilities. Therefore, interventions for alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) have been suggested to support children with autism and their family members. However, there has been only few researches to report the effectiveness of AAC intervention in family setting. The purpose of this case study is to describe the family-centered AAC intervention for a child with autism spectrum disorder and his family. The procedure of the family-centered AAC intervention consisted of assessment of family needs for AAC, the identification of priority communicative contexts at home, AAC device training and implementation at home, and four-step communication partner AAC training. Results obtained from this study were as follows: First, the family-centered AAC intervention increased communication turns and spontaneous speech. Second, the mother and father who participated in the study were satisfied with the AAC device and training. Specially, they experienced the supports during the process of the individualized parents education course. The benefits of the study and specific implications for the future research were discussed.
