국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 한국의 재개발 지역에서 타지역으로 이주한 주민의 사회적 네트워크 해체를 분석하고 사회적 네트워크 해체 과정에서 나타나는 평생교육 요구를 파악하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 D도시의 재개발 지역에서 타지역으로 이주한 주민 20명을 대상으로 사회적 네트워크 조사와 질적 면담 조사를 실시하였고, 수집된 자료 분석을 통하여 다음과 같은 결과를 제시할 수 있었다. 첫째, 재개발 과정에서 타지역으로 이주하게 된 중·고령 성인은 사회적 네트워크의 해체를 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 친구나 가까운 이웃과의 네트워크가 줄어들게 되었다. 이는 기존의 빈곤층과는 달리 빈곤에 대처하는 집단적 방법을 확보하지 못하고 개별적으로 대처하게 되는 신빈곤층의 특성으로 파악되었다. 특히 신빈곤층으로서 재개발 지역 주민은 집단적 대처 방법 중에 하나인 사회적 네트워크의 대부분이 이주를 통하여 와해되고 다시 회복하지 못하고 있었다. 둘째, 재개발 지역 이주민의 사회적 네트워크의 해체와 관련하여 평생교육 요구가 존재하였다. 이는 평생교육에 참여하겠다는 기본적인 요구와 함께 사회적 활동 또는 사회적 참여 그리고 타인과의 관계를 맺기 위한 요구와 취업과 같은 일자리와 관련된 교육 요구가 존재하였다. 이상의 분석결과를 토대로 관련 시사점을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the dissolution of social networks of the middle and old aged and poor emigrants from a redevelopment area and their needs for lifelong learning. Data collected from 20 emigrants at D city in Republic of Korea through networks survey and interview. Quantitative data through survey were analyzed by SPSS 12.0 for Win and Net-Miner 4.0. Qualitative data through interview were collected and analyzed for showing the needs for lifelong learning. The analyses of data showed that followings: 1) the middle and old aged emigrant from a urban redevelopment area experienced the dissolution of social networks. Especially the frequencies of the network with friends and neighbors were decreased. This dissolution of social networks may be understanded in the respect of loosing the ways to respond to the poverty situation. 2) there were the needs for lifelong learning of them. The needs were related with meeting others, finding some opportunities to work, and social participation. Based on these results, suggestions and limitations of this research were discussed: Need for more studies about the new poor focused on social networks, development of programs having the more clear objectives reflecting the needs of the new poor, positive studies about the relations between social networks and the need for lifelong learning and so on.
