영문 초록

This paper suggest residential location choice criteria for improvement of quality of life that based on daily activity pattern of elderly. Specifically, the first objective of the study is provide the information and the reference point for residential location choice considering quality of life in the life stage of the elderly. The second objective of the study is determinate suitable residential location for supporting day-to-day actions within the pedestrian-oriented neighborhood. The investigation introduced Residential Location Effects, verified through case study of Gwangju Metropolitan City, central urban area and sub-center area and suburb area Geographic Information and Generalized Cost were used for research methods, where residential location effects is high is a suitable location for the elderly residential location. It results that central urban area is suitable location for elderly because residential location effects is high, travel cost and travel time is low. These results imply that central urban area is required urban regeneration in the aging society and provide direction for housing policy.
