부모의 학대가 청소년 학교폭력(왕따) 피해에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

선행연구들에 의하면 부모의 자녀학대는 자녀가 성장하면서 비행에 관여하게 할 가능성을 높인다고 한다. 또한 최근 연구에 의하면 부모로부터 학대를 받은 아이들 이 학교에서 폭력의 피해자가 될 가능성이 높다고 보고하였다. 이와 관련된 국내 선행연구들은 표본의 차이에 따라 서로 상충되는 결과를 보고하였고, 대부분이 횡단자료 분석에 그쳐서 원인과 결과 간에 시차를 고려한 보다 세밀한 분석은 많지 않는 실정이었다. 선행연구의 단점을 보완하면서 본 연구는 부모로부터 학대를 당하는 것이 학교 폭력 피해와 가해의 위험요인이 되는 것인지 종단연구를 통하여 알아보는 것이 목 적이다. 첫째, 부모의 학대가 학교폭력 피해에 영향을 주는 지 알아본다. 둘째, 부모의 학대가 학교폭력 가해에 영향을 주는지 알아본다. 셋째, 부모의 학대와 학교 피해/가해와 관련된 매개효과들을 검증한다. 마지막으로, 학교폭력의 중첩과 관련 하여 학교폭력 피해가 학교폭력 가해로 이어지는지에 대하여 종단 분석을 실시하여 동일집단 가설과 근접성 가설 중에서 어느 가설이 지지되는지 조사한다. 한국아동청소년패널 중1자료의 2차년도와 3차년도 자료를 이용하여 구조방정식 모형분석을 한 결과 부모의 자녀 학대가 학교폭력 피해와 직접적으로 유의미한 관 계가 있음을 확인적 요인분석을 통하여 확인하였다. 또한 부모의 학대는 우울감을 통하여 또한 낮은 자존감을 통하여 학교폭력 피해에 간접적으로 영향을 주는 것을 확인하였다. 하지만, 부모의 학대가 청소년의 학교폭력 가해의 직접적인 원인이 아 님을 확인하였다. 학교폭력 피해와 가해 중첩에 대한 분석 결과 같은 연도일 경우 학교폭력 피해가 학교폭력 가해에 유의미하게 영향을 주었지만, 전년도의 학교폭력 피해 경험은 다음해의 학교폭력 가해로 유의미하게 연결되지 않았다. 이러한 결과는 학교폭력 가해와 피해 중첩현상을 설명하는데 있어서 ‘동일집단 가설’ 보다 는 ‘근접성 가설’을 더 지지하는 결과라고 볼 수 있다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 정책적 제안을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

According to the previous studies, parental abuse on their children is significantly related to the children’s delinquent behavior during their growth. Also, parental abuse is related to the victimization of school violence. Related domestic studies showed inconsistent results depending on the types of samples. Also most of studies were implemented based on the cross-sectional analysis ignoring the time difference between the cause and result. Overcoming the deficiencies of the previous studies, the purpose of this study is to examine whether the parental abuse is leading to the school bully-victimization as well as do the school bully-assaulting using longitudinal research design. Specifically, first, this study examines the relationship between parental abuse and school bully-victimization. Second, this study examines whether the parental abuse is leading to school bully-assault. Third, this study examines several mediating effects between the parental abuse and school bully-victimization/assault. Finally, regarding the coexistence of school bully victimization and assault among juveniles, this study tests ‘equivalent group hypothesis’ and ‘proximity hypothesis.’ Using wave 2 and 3 data from the KCYPS middle 1 data set, this study utilized the confirmative factor analysis of structural equation modeling. The parental abuse was significantly related to the school bully-victimization. Also, feeling of depression and self-esteem showed significant mediating effects between the parental abuse and bully-victimization. However, parental abuse was not significantly related to the school bully-assault. Regarding the analysis for the bully victimization/assault coexistence, bully-victimization led to the bully-assault in the same year analysis, while the previous year’s bully-victimization did not lead to the next year’s bully-assault. This result support ‘proximity hypothesis’ rather than ‘equivalent group hypothesis’ in explaining bully victimization/assault coexistence phenomenon. Based on the results, a policy recommendation was proposed.
