국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 평창 동계올림픽에 대한 소비자의 참여의향을 분석하는데 있다. 이를 위해 동계올림픽의 인기종목들을 가상적으로 구성하여, 서울시민들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하고, 수집된 436개의 자료를 이용하여 로짓모형을 추정하였다. 분석결과 평창 동계올림픽의 참여의향에 영향을 미치는 요인은 관람료, 연령, 학력, 동계스포츠 경험여부, 올림픽, 월드컵, 메가 이벤트 방문여부 등으로 나타났다. 평창 동계올림픽 참여확률은 관람료 5만원에서 0.2743～0.2792, 관람료 10만원에서 0.1537～0.2015, 관람료 20만원에서 0.0785～0.1011, 관람료 30만원에서 0.0478～0.0519, 그리고 관람료 40만원에서 0.0219～0.0384로 추정되었다. 이와 같은 분석결과는 평창 동계올림픽의 성공적 개최를 위한 필수조건인 충분한 수요기반이 존재한다는 것을 반영한다. 또한 참여확률은 메가 이벤트를 경험한 경우가 메가 이벤트를 경험하지 못한 경우에 비해 더 높게 나타났으며, 관람료 수입을 극대화시키는 관람료 수준은 145,000～185,000원으로 추정되었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to estimate participation rate of the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic Games. To this end this study hypothetically composed winter game products and conducted an onsite survey for residents in Seoul. This study estimated participation rate of the Winter Olympics using logit model based on 436 data. Results reveal that admission fee, age, education, and experiences in winter sports and mega events had significant effects on the Winter Olympics. Results also show that the probabilities of potential participation were estimated to be 0.2743～0.2792 for admission fee of 50,000 Won(US$1=1,155 Won), 0.1537～0.2015 for 100,000 Won, 0.0785～0.1011 for 200,000 Won, 0.0478～0.0519 for 300,000 Won, and 0.0219～0.0384 for 400,000 Won, respectively. This finding reflects that sufficient demand exists as being prerequisite for the successful host of the Winter Olympics. Results also indicate that the probability of potential participation was higher for those who experienced mega events than those who did not experience mega events in the past. Finally, the admission fee of maximizing revenues was estimated between 145,000 and 185,000 Won.
