감성지능을 중심으로 최신 초등교육 이슈의 고찰을 통한 실과교육의 중요성 재조명 - 생명과학영역을 중심으로

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 실과교육의 생명과학영역을 중심으로 감성지능을 중심으로 최신 초등교육에서 이슈로 거론되고 있는 창의․인성교육, STEAM 교육, 스마트교육을 고찰하여 실과교육과 감성지능의 관계를 고찰하여 실과교육의 중요성을 재조명하는데 있다. 이 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 첫째, 감성지능에 대한 이론적 내용을 최근 교육 체계와 함께 비교 고찰하였다. 둘째, 실과교육에 서의 감성지능 관련 연구들을 생명과학영역을 중심으로 분석하였다. 셋째, 미래의 실과교육에서의 감성지능 교육에 대한 방향을 제시하였다. 이 연구에서 살펴 본 창의․인성교육, STEAM 교육, 스마트교육, 그리고 실과교육의 내용과 그 특성을 Salovey & Mayer의 감성지능 요소와 Goleman의 감성지능 요소를 기준으로 서로 비교한 결과 감성지능과 실과교육, 창의․인성교육, STEAM 교육, 스마트교육에는 서로 공통적인 역량, 요소및 특성이 존재하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이를 기반으로 결론을 내리면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 실과교육은 감성지능, 창의․인성교육, STEAM교육, 스마트교육과 관계가 매우 깊다. 둘째, 현재 우리나라에서 가장 논의가 크게 이루어지고 있는 창의․인성교육, STEAM 교육, 스마 트교육은 초등학생의 감성지능 수준을 높여줄 수 있다. 셋째, 실과교육을 통해 초등학생의 감성지능을 높일 가능성이 매우 높다. 넷째, 특히 실과교육 내 생명과학 영역에서의 교육은 초등학생의 감성지능 수준을 매우 효과적으로 제고해 주고 있다. 다섯째, 감성지능이 학생들의 미래 사회에서의 성공에 큰 역량이 되고 성공을 예견하는 지표가 된다면 실과교육은 그러한 감성지능 수준을 높일 수 있는 중요한 방안이 되므로 실과교육의 중요 성에 대한 실제적인 증거가 된다. 특히 실과교육 내 생명과학 영역의 수업이 초등학생의 감성지능 수준 제고에 실제적인 역할을 하는 여러 연구 결과를 볼 때 생명과학 영역의 수업은 초등학생의 미래 성공에 큰 역할을 한다고 볼 수 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of the study was to review the importance of the Practical Arts education, based on the life science area, by studying most recent issues on the elementary education around the emotional intelligence including creative․humanity education, STEAM education, and SMART education. To achieve the purpose of the study, first, theoretical background of the emotional intelligence was researched. Secondly, previous researches on emotional intelligence related to the practical arts education was analyzed. Finally, the directions for implementing the emotional intelligence education in the practical arts education was presented. Conclusions of the study were as follows: First, there is a profound relationship among the emotional intelligence, the creativity․humanity educaton, the STEAM educaton, the SMART education, and the Practical Arts education. Second, the creativity․humanity educaton, the STEAM educaton, the SMART education, most recent and discussed issues on education, could enhance the emotional intelligence level of elementary school students. Third, there is most high possibility of enhancing the emotional intelligence level of elementary school students by teaching the Practical Arts education. Forth, especially teaching the life science area in the Practical Arts education effectively enhance the emotional intelligence level of elementary school students. Fifth, teaching the life science area in the Practical Arts education enhance the probability of future success of elementary school students.
