초등 예비교사의 발명교육에 대한 인식과 요구

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 초등 예비교사의 발명교육에 대한 인식과 요구를 분석하여 효율적인 발명교육 수행에 기여하는 데 있다. A교육대학교 학생 176명을 대상으로 발명교육 내용 표준과 선행 연구를 토대로 작성한 질문지를 사용하여 초등 예비교사의 발명교육에 대한 인식과 요구를 분석하였다. 연구의 주된 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 예비교사의 발명교육에 대한 능력 수준은 학년에 따라 유의한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났지 만, 성별과 발명 교육/활동 경험에 따라 일부 영역에서 유의한 차이를 보였다. 둘째, 예비교사가 인지하는 발명교육의 중요도는 모든 변인 즉, 학년, 성별, 발명 교육/활동 경험에 따라 유의미한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 발명교육 요구도가 가장 높은 내용 표준은 ‘발명과 공학’, ‘문제와 관찰’, ‘발명과 창의성’, ‘발명과 STEAM , 발명과 역사’등이었다. 넷째, 예비교사들이 발명에 관해 연상한 단어들 중 가장 빈번히 등장한 것은 창의, 에디슨, 전구, 아이디어 등의 순으로 조사되었다. 다섯째, 예비교사가 교육의 필요성을 가장 크게 인식하고 있는 발명 교육학 영역의 내용은 ‘발명 교육 시설 및 환경’, ‘발명교육 프로그램 개발’ 및 ‘발명활동 지도’인 것으로 나타났다. 여섯째, 예비교사들은 실과와 과학을 초등 발명교육 수행에 가장 적합한 교과로 인식하고 있었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze the perceptions and educational needs of elementary school pre-service teachers toward invention education. As of this, a survey instrument was developed and administered to 176 pre-service teachers who were asked to identify the appropriate answers for the study. The major findings of this study were as follows. First, it was identified that the pre-service teachers competency level on invention education was significantly different in two variables, gender and educational exposure. Second, it was revealed that the pre-service teachers perceived importance level on invention education was not significant different in three variables, grade level, gender, and educational exposure. Third, the pre-service teachers showed the highest educational needs on some core contents such as invention and engineering , problem and observation , invention and STEAM , and invention and history . Forth, the pre-service teachers responded most frequently that the word associated with invention was creative . Fifth, the pre-service teachers showed the highest educational needs on invention education areas such as facilities and environments , program development , and guidance on invention activities . Sixth, the pre-service teachers perceived practical arts and science as the most appropriate subject to conduct invention education in elementary school.
