현악 영산회상 중 <상령산> 분장(分章) 형성과정에 대한 연구

국문 초록

현행 영산회상 중 <상령산>은 총 4장으로 구분되어 있고 각 장마다 15박의 종지 선율을 가지고 있다. <상령산>의 매장에 나타나는 종지 선율은 장별 구분이 없는 『어은보』 영산회상에서 비롯된 것이다. 18세기 후반부터 19세기 전반 사이에 편찬된 『어은보』, 『유예지』, 『동대금보』, 『삼죽금보』에 기재되어 있는 영산회상의 1행으로 된 유사 선율은 다소간의 변화가 있지만 모두 제3행, 제7행, 제11행, 제17행에 출현한다. 1행의 유사 선율 바로 앞에 위치하는 5박의 유사 선율은 『어은보』에서 2 종류가 있었으나 후대로 오면서 점차 하나로 통합되는 과정을 보여준다. 19세기 후반에 이르러서 영산회상의 1행의 유사 선율도 하나로 통합되는 과정을 보이며 종지 선율 역할을 하기 시작한다. 20세기 초반에 이르러서 5박의 유사 선율이 1행의 유사선율과 통합되어 정형화한 형태로 출현한다. 이 정형화한 형태의 유사 선율은 현행영산회상 중 <상령산>까지 전하여진다. 『어은보』 영산회상 제1행과 제2행 제5박까지의 선율은 배탁임종에서 배황종으로 상행하는 선율이 연속해서 등장한다. 이 선율은 관악기에서 음을 밀어 올리는 요성(搖聲)과 비슷하다. 『어은보』 영산회상 제15행과 제16행 제5박까지의 선율은 『어은보』 영산회상 제1행과 제2행 제5박까지의 선율의 변주이다. 『유예지』 영산회상 제15행과 제16행 제5박까지의 선율은 기존의 상행선율과 더부어 또 하나의 상행하는 선율이 추가되어 나타난다. 『유예지』 영산회상 제15행과 제16행 제5박까지의 선율이 조금씩 변화를 거쳐서 현행영산회상 중 <상령산> 제15행과 제16행 제5박까지의 선율이 되었다. 따라서 현행 영산회상 중 <상령산> 제4장 후3행은 <상령산>의 초장을 4도 위로 변주한 것이 아니라 『어은보』 영산회상의 제15행, 제16행, 제17행의 선율이 『유예지』 영산회상에서 변주되고, 그것이 현행 영산회상까지 이른 것이다.

영문 초록

The Sanglyeongsan in the current Yeongsanhoesang consists of 4 chapters, in which each chapter has the ending melodies with 15-beats. The ending melodies appeared in each chapter of Sanglyeongsan have been originated from Eoeunbo Yeongsanhoesang without a distinction between chapters. Even though some or less changes, the similar melodies in the 1st line of Yeongsanhoesang written in Eoeunbo, Yuyeji, Dongdaegeumbo, and Samjukgeumbo -which were published from the late eighteenth century until the early nineteenth century- have been appeared in the 3rd, 7th, 11th, and 17th line. There were two kinds of the similar melodies in the 5th beat located in front of the similar melodies in the 1st line, but they were integrated to one kind then came as. In the late nineteenth century, the similar melodies in the 1st line of Yeongsanhoesang were integrated to one kind and played role as the ending melodies. In the early twentieth century, the similar melodies in the 5th beat were integrated to the similar melodies in the 1st line and appeared in a fixed form. The similar melodies in the fixed form have been handed down to the Sanglyeongsan in the current Yeongsanhoesang. The melodies which go up from B♭ to E♭ have been appeared in the melodies from the 1st line to the 5th beat of the 2nd line in Eoeunbo Yeongsanhoesang. The melodies are similar to Yoseong which push up a tone in wind instruments. The melodies from the 15th line to the 5th beat of the 16th line are the variation of the melodies from the 1st line to the 5th beat of the 2nd line in Eoeunbo Yeongsanhoesang. In addition to the existing going-up melodies, the another going-up melodies have been appeared in the melodies from the 15th line to the 5th beat of the 16th line in Eoeunbo Yeongsanhoesang. With having been gradually changed, the melodies from the 15th line to the 5th beat of the 16th line in Eoeunbo Yeongsanhoesang have become the melodies from the 15th line to the 5th beat of the 16th line in Sanglyeongsan in the current Yeongsanhoesang. Therefore, the melodies of the last three lines in the 4th chapter of Sanglyeongsan in the current Yeongsanhoesang have not been variated up to four degree from the melodies of 1st chapter in Sanglyeongsan. Rather, the melodies of the 15th, 16th, and 17th line of Eoeunbo Yeongsanhoesang have been variated in Yuyeji Yeongsanhoesang and handed down to the current Yeongsanhoesang.
