국문 초록

한국음악 장단에 박, 박자, 장단의 층위가 있듯이, 가락에는 꾸밈음, 음형, 선율의 층위가 있다. 즉, 꾸밈음이 확대되어 음형(melodic cell)을 이루고, 수 개의 음형이 결합되어 하나의 선율을 이룬다. 꾸밈음은 하나의 본음(本音)에 속하고, 음형은 1소절 내지 2소절을 차지하고, 선율형은 2소절 내지 4소절을 차지한다. 우리 음악의 음형에는 수평선 음형, 하행 음형, 상행 음형 등이 있다. 하행 음형, 즉 질러내는 음형은 상행 음형, 즉 눌러 내는 음형보다 템포가 약간 빠르다. 또한 하행 음형은 강약(强弱)의 다이내믹(dynamic)과 관계가 있고, 상행 음형은 그와 반대로 약강(弱强)의 다이내믹과 관계가 있다. 이외에도 볼록형과 오목형도 있다.

영문 초록

There are different levels of rhythm in Korean music; beat, meter, and jangdan or rhythmic cycle. There also are different levels of melody; embellishing tones, melodic cells, and melody. In other words, different embellishing tones are extended to composed melodic cells, and melodic cells are combined to produce a melody. The embellishing tone is included a main tone. The melodic cell occupies one or two musical phrases. The melody takes up two to four phrases. There are various kinds of melodic cells in Korean music; horizontal type, descending type, and ascending type. The descending type appears in faster music. The descending type also is related to the strong-weak dynamics while the ascending type to the weak-strong dynamics. There are still other types of melodic cells; convex and concave types.
