영문 초록

The govemment has allocated a fairly big budget as an investment for fishing po development project every y않r since fishing village(area) has been regarded as the most depressed rural area. RecentIy, however, some policy makers raised a question of whether such an investment for fishing port is effective in increasing the productivity of fishing industry as well as the quality of life of fishermen. As an attempt to address such a question, the paper has tried to empirically investigate the economic impact of the fishing development projects. More s야x:ifically， the paper first focused to measure the industrial impact and employment impact of fishing pαt investment using national input-output model. Secondly, it is attempted to check the hypothesis of whether fishing port investment has really contributed to increase the producti꺼ty of fishing industry using V AR technique. Thirdly, it is so attemp， based on the path analysis, to investigate the causal relationship betwæn fishing port investment and the income of fishing llage. Finally the pa야~ tried to suggest some policy aI따natives which can contribute to enhance the effectiveness of fishing poπ investment.
