영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the ripple effects of the social overhead capital investment related to the Dae Jeon EXPO `93 on the urban economy and finance of Dae Jeon city. This paper tried to analyze the ripple effect of the urban economy by focusing on the income effect through the multiplier process, and the ripple effcet of the urban finance concentrated on the efficiency and the residential welfare of the operation of the urban public finance. According to the results obtained by the study the primary income effect of the social overhead capital investment related to the Dae Jeon EXPO `93 is estimated about 50.3-67.0 billion Won and the secondary income effect is estimated about 50-70 billion Won, Thus, total income effect of the scoial overhead capital investment related to the Dae Jeon EXPO `93 is estimated in the range of 100-137 billon Won. The urban financial effect of the social overhead capital investment related to the Dae Jeon EXPO `93 seems to be characterized as an unequal management of the urban public finance. Expecially, The expenses required for the construction of the road and traffic system which cost about 73% of the total revenus of the general account in the Dae Jeon city budget are expected to trim the budgets for the social welfare programs, which will ultimately lead to the phenomenon of the unbalanced management of public expenditures. And the debt financing mainly relying on local public bonds which amounts to about 12% of the Dae Jeon city budget is expected to play as a long-term fiscal pressure elements of the Dae Jeon city budget.
