국문 초록

본고의 취지는 독일의 철학자인 리하르드 셰플러가 구상한 ‘형이상학적 그리스도론’의 개요를 소개하는 데에 있다. 보다 구체적으로, 본고는 셰플러의 범례를 통해서 그리스도론에 대한 숙고가 ‘철학과 신학의 대화’를 통해서 더 진전될 수 있고, 또 심화될 수 있음을 보여 주려는 데에 있다. 셰플러는 본래 철학적 개념들인 ‘본성’과 ‘인격’의 개념들이 신학적인 목적을 위해서 어떻게 사용되고 있으며, 역으로 ‘종교적 경험’에 대한 신학적 반성을 통해 얻어진 ‘자유’와 ‘역사’의 개념들이 위의 두 개념들과 결합되어 어떤 방식으로 ‘형이상학적 그리스도론’의 계속적인 전개에 기여하고 있는지를 해명하고 있다. 본고는 먼저 셰플러가 구상하는 형이상학적 그리스도론의 이해를 위한 전 단계로서 셰플러의 철학적 경험 이론을 소개하고(2장), 이어서 셰플러가 기술하는 바에 따라서 성서적(우주적) 그리스도론이 태동한 이스라엘 민족의 역사적 맥락을 개관한다(3장). 그리고 본격적으로, 철학적 그리스도론의 중요 개념들, 곧 본성과 인격의 개념에 대한 셰플러의 분석을 제시한다(4장). 이어서 ‘자유’의 개념을 매개로 해서 셰플러가 구상하는 형이상학적 그리스도론의 골자를 소개한다(5장). 마지막으로는, 셰플러의 철학적 사유에 대한 동시대 철학자 내지 신학자들의 반향을 철학과 신학의 대화라는 맥락에서 소개하고, 필자 편에서 간략한 평가를 시도한다.

영문 초록

This article aims to present an overview on ‘metaphysical Christology’ which was shaped by a German philosopher, Richard Schaeffler. In other words, it will be shown that the dialogue between philosophy and theology, as Schaeffler’s Christology suggests, may broaden and deepen the understanding of Christology. While Schaeffler examines how the philosophical concepts such as ‘nature’ and ‘person’ have been used for theological studies, he demonstrates how the ideas of ‘freedom’ and ‘history’, which were developed through the theological investigations of religious experience, can be interrelated with ‘nature’ and ‘person.’ By doing so, he explains that the interrelationship contributes to broadening and deepening the metaphysical Christology. First of all, Schaeffler’s philosophical theory of experience will be discussed. Then I will provide a historical context of Jewish people in which, according to Schaeffler, the Biblical (cosmological) Christology emerged. Thirdly, the idea of ‘metaphysical Christology’ will be explored, along with ‘nature’ ‘person’ and ‘freedom’. Finally, I will introduce the debates of our contemporary philosophers and theologians on Schaeffler in the context of the dialogue between philosophy and theology, attempting to make some comments on them.
