국문 초록

세계에서 가장 많은 수의 이슬람교도가 살고 있는 큰 국가로서 인도네시아는 사회의 소수자를 어떻게 세심하게 다룰 것인가의 논점과 관련하여 매우 흥미로우면서도 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 인도네시아에서는 그리스도교 또한 소수집단의 하나다. 역사적 관점에서 보았을 때 인도네시아는 다원적 요소로 구성되어 있으며 모든 종교들이 그 안에 들어왔다. 그 역사 안에서 ‘종교적 관용’의 정책으로 인해 사회적 갈등을 일으키는 종교적 요소는 점차 줄어들었다. 이러한 상황에서 인도네시아의 토양에서 싹을 틔운, 즉 시민사회의 통합적 일부로서의 새로운 체험이라 할 수 있는 창의적인 신학적 반성이 일고 있다. 이에 가톨릭교회는 자신의 존재 이유를 공고히 하는 데 능동적인 노력을 기울이고 있으며, 종교 간 대화에 초점을 맞춤으로써 오늘날의 인도네시아에서 가톨릭교회의 새로운 입지를 확신 있게 다지고 있다. 공동선의 향상을 위해 좋은 이웃이 되어 주는 것은 그리스도교의 참된 소명이며 교회가 이웃과 함께 힘을 합하여 연대해 살아갈때에야 그 소명을 실현할 수 있다. 세상을 위해 봉사하는 평신도들은 인도네시아에서의 진정한 가톨릭교회의 가치에 대하여 증언한다. 이 논문은 우리의 신학적 반성을 세부적으로 그리며 인도네시아의 주요 쟁점들에 대해 광범위하게 다루는 하나의 ‘조각모음 신학’(patchwork theology)이라 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

As a big nation with the largest number of Moslem in the world Indonesia plays an interesting and main role in regarding with the question how to handle with care the minority. Among the others, Christianity is one of the minority groups. From historical point of view, Indonesia is being composed by a pluralistic elements, and all religions came to Indonesia. In its history, religion as a source of social conflicts in Indonesia has been reduced because of the policy of ‘religious tolerance’. In this situation it emerges the creative theological reflections which sprout out from the soil of Indonesia, i.e. the different experiences as an integral part of civil society. The Catholic Church efforts to elaborate her presence for actively contributing her raison d’etre and it is a kind of her conviction that the inter-religious dialogue is a new way of being Church in Indonesia today. Being a good neighbour for the quality of common good (bonum commune) is a true Christian calling and it can only be realized if the Church is hand in hand and lives in togetherness with her neighbour. The lay apostles who involved positively in the world bear witness to the true values of Catholic Church in Indonesia. Sketching in the details our theological reflection this article reaches out the patchwork theology which is arranged by Indonesian main issues.
