As people are more interested in well-being to lead a happy and healthy, food related to well-being are increasingly being produced and sold.
Food, the most essential component of human life, is directly linked with health. Up to now, food has been considered a means of survival, however. Due to diversification, advancement, and specialization of demands caused by industrial development, food is closely related to one's dignity and social status more than ever before.
Additionally, as trends in production and consumption of food change, food-related crimes not only have become sophisticated, but also have multiplied. As a result, damage to the living of people is on the increase.
For that reason, it becomes more and more crucial to promote institutional devices to boost food-related industries while controlling food crimes that bring more harm than good to public safety and public health.
Figuring out how to protect consumers from food crimes, how to understand prescriptive elements of violation and how to punish violators of offences is a vitally important issue.
In this thesis, causes of food crimes will be examined and analyzed and theories regarding criminal law will be offered accordingly.
