외국인 관광객의 문화관광 행태에 관한 비교 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 국내 문화관광지를 찾는 외국관광객들의 방문형태 및 방문동기, 중요요소, 만족도 등이 관광객 각각의 국적에 따라 어떠한 차이가 있는 지를 규명하고자 하는 탐색적인 연구로 수행하였다. 이를 위해 유네스코 세계문화유산으로서 수도권 내 위치한 수원 화성을 조사대상지로 선정하여, 일본인ㆍ미국인ㆍ중국인 관광객을 대상으로 한 설문조사를 실시한 후 이를 분석하였다. 방문형태면에서 일본 및 미국인 관광객은 일반개별여행의 비율이 가장 높은데 비해, 중국관광객은 단체관광의 비율이 더 높았다. 이로 인해 일본 및 미국관광객은 다양한 사전정보입수 경로를 가지고 있었으나, 중국관광객은 여행사에 의존하는 비율이 높았다. 방문동기도 국적별로 유의한 차이가 있었다. 대상지내의 중요요소로 일본 및 미국관광객은 ‘관광정보 제공’을 중시한 데 비해 중국관광객은 ‘휴게 및 편의시설’을 중시하는 차이점이 발견되었다. 이것은 개별관광보다 단체관광의 비율이 높은 중국관광객의 특성이 주원인으로 판단된다. 방문후의 만족도는 긍정적인 반응이었으며, 특히 8개 측정문항중 ‘고유의 전통경관’, ‘안내 및 서비스 체계’, ‘청결 등 환경관리상태’등이 높은 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study is an exploratory research to survey the foreign tourists visiting the Korean traditional cultural destinations and thereby, determine the differences of their tourists' tour styles, motives, characteristics and satisfaction depending on their nationalities. To this end, the researcher sampled Suwon Hwaseong Castle designated as World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO and thereupon, conducted a questionnaire survey for Japanese, US and Chinese tourists and thereby, analyzed the data collected from the survey. In terms of tour styles, Japanese and US tourists tend to travel independently, while Chinese tourists tend to travel in groups. Hence, the former foreign tourists seem to be well informed of our cultural heritage through diverse sources, while the latter tourists tend to depend more on travel agency services for their tourism information. The motives of tour were found to differ significantly depending on nationalities. While Japanese and US tourists expect high of 'tourism information services, Chinese tourists tend to put more emphasis on 'recess and amenities' In overall terms, they were more satisfied with 'unique historic landscape', 'information and service system' and 'tidiness and environmental management condition', among 8 question items.
