동래온천방문객의 지출 결정요인

국문 초록

1990년대 이후 지속적인 경제성장과 더불어 국민의 관광 참여가 다양화되고 관광에 대한 가치관이 변화하면서 생활과 관광의 질적 측면에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 또한 2002년 후반부터 주 5일 근무제의 시행으로 인하여 주말에 관광지를 방문하는 관광객들이 점차 증가하고 있으며 웰빙(well-being)에 대한 관심이 높아지면서 요양ㆍ휴양ㆍ스트레스 해소 등을 위해 관광지를 방문하는 관광객들이 점차 증가하고 있는 추세이다. 본 연구는 동래온천의 경쟁력 제고와 마케팅 정보제공을 위해 동래온천방문객들을 대상으로 지출의 결정요인 파악하고자 하였다. 지출구조와 패턴의 분석을 위해 인구·통계특성을 비롯하여 온천선택속성요인(부대시설, 숙박시설, 주변관광지, 타의적 방문, 온천수의 질, 대중온천탕, 접근성)을 주요변수로 하여 Tobit모형을 통해 지출결정요인을 추정하였다. 분석결과, 체재일 수와 구성원 수, 소득수준 등과 온천선택속성요인 중에서 부대시설, 온천수의 질, 대중온천탕, 접근성요인이 지출항목별로 영향을 주는 것으로 추정되었다. 본 연구를 통해 온천 방문객들의 지출패턴에 대한 분석결과를 토대로, 부산 지역의 관광활성화와 지역 활성화 측면에서 지자체나 사업체에 유용한 정보를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

As the sense of value on tourism had been changing and public's participation in tourism had been diverse along with the growth of economy after 1990's, public interest on quality of tour and lifestyle had been increasing. Furthermore, the number of tourists who tend to visit tour sites on weekend and whose purpose of tour had been focused on recuperation, recreation, and relief of stress, had been increased as five-day only work week law had been in force after latter half of 2002 and the interests on well-being had been increased. This study was designed to find out the determinants of expenditure to promote competitiveness and to provide marketing strategy. By adopting Tobit model including basic demographic information and selective attributes of spa(subsidiary facility, accommodation facility, tourism spots around, visit by recommendation, quality of spa water, condition of public bath, accessibility) as independent variables, the determinents of expenditure were analyzed. As a result, the demographic factors(the level of income), the spa related variables(the number of staying days, and the number of party), and selective attributes of spa(subsidiary facility, the quality of spa water, the quality of public bath, accessibility) were found out to have impacts on expenditure. Based on the result of this study, especially the patterns of visitors' expenditure, it would be expected to suggest useful information about revitalization of tourism in Busan to local government and facility suppliers.
