한국어 교육을 위한 시 작품 선정 기준에 대한 고찰

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 아랍어권 한국어 학습자를 위한 문학 교육에서 시장르의 작품 선정 기준에 대해 제언하는 것이다. 시는 자연이나 인생에서 일어나는 느낌과 생각을 짧고 압축된 말로 노래하듯이 표현한 글이다. 시는 짧고 압축된 말로 표현되어 난해성과 모호성이 있고 그로 인해 이해하기 힘든 장르라고도 하지만, 다른 문학 작품보다 텍스트가 짧기 때문에 쉽게 암기할 수 있다. 그리고 반복적인 운율이 있어 리듬이 있고, 놀이를 하는 것처럼 학습에 쉽게 접근해서 수행 활동이 가능하다. 이에 본고에서는 현재 출판되어 사용되고 있는 한국어 교재를 분석하여 시 작품을 통한 문학 교육이 어떻게 이루어지고 있는지 살펴보고, 이를 바탕으로 증가하고 있는 아랍어권 학습자들에게 문학 장르 중 시를 통한 문학 교육을 위해서 어떤 작품을 선정해야 하는지 그 기준을 살펴보고 제언하고자 한다. 먼저 초급 단계에서는 첫째, 시의 의미보다 언어 형태에 중점을 둔 작품을 선정해야 한다. 둘째, 짧은 어구가 반복되는 작품을 선정해야 한다. 셋째, 리듬감이 많은 작품을 선정해야 한다. 그리고 ‘동시’가 이 세 가지 선정 기준에 부합된다고 강조하였다. 중급 단계에서는 첫째, 가족의 사랑과 결속에 대한 작품을 선정해야 한다. 둘째, 지조와 의리를 중요하게 생각하는 작품을 선정해야 한다. 셋째, 가난과 같은 아픈 시대 상황을 보여주는 작품을 선정해야 한다. 마지막으로 고급 단계에서는 첫째, 한국의 전통과 문화를 배울 수 있는 주제의 작품을 선정해야 한다. 둘째, 한국현대의 여성상을 보여주는 작품을 선정해야 한다. 셋째, 남녀의 아름다운 사랑을 노래하고 있는 작품을 선정해야 한다. 넷째, 삶과 죽음을 주제로한 작품을 선정해야 한다.

영문 초록

The main purpose of this study is to suggest selection criterion of poetry in Korean Literature Education for Arabic learners. Poetry is a form of literature that expresses the emotions and thoughts of daily life with aesthetic and rhythmic qualities of language. Some say poetry encapsulates many words into short language so it is abstruse and difficult to understand, but since it is short in its form, it is easier to memorize compared to other form of literature. And with the use of assonance, poetry is rhythmical, allowing learners to easily access and enjoy learning. Therefore, this study first analyzed the Korean Culture Education, particularly with the poetry from the existing Korean learning materials and based on the analysis, suggests selection criteria of adequate poetry for growing number of Arabic speakers. First, for the beginners, it is best to select poems that are more focused on its form than the meaning. Second, poems with repeated short phrases should be selected. Third, rhythmical poems should be selected. The study suggests the poem that meets the three criteria is the ‘Dong-si (children’s poem)’.For Intermediate level learners, first criterion is that the poem should be about love and unity of family. Second, the poem that shows loyalty and high-principled attitude should be selected. Third, the one that reflects miserable situations such as poverty should be selected. For learners in the advanced level, the poem with a theme that helps them to learn about Korean traditional culture and custom should be selected. Secondly, the one that shows modern images of women in Korea should be selected. Thirdly, the poem that speaks about beautiful love between men and women should be selected. Last criterion of adequate poem should be the theme of life and death.
