국문 초록

빠른 속도로 변모하고 있는 현대의 생활문화는 식문화에도 변화를 가져왔으며 이로 인하여 자연스럽게 식기에 대한 인식도 변모하게 되었다. 식기는 더 이상 단순히 음식 섭취만을 위한 도구가 아니다. 삶의 즐거움을 전달해 줄 수 있고 생활에서의 아름다움을 배가 시킬 수 있는 공예품으로서의 생활식기가 필요하게 된 것이다. 본 연구는 이러한 식기에 대한 인식의 변화에서부터 시작한다. 일반 대중에게까지 광범하게 사용되고 있는 유기제품을 비롯하여 금속식기는 다른 공예품들과 함께 조선시대까지의 생활양식을 주도하였다. 한국의 정서와 미의식이 한데 어우러진'멋'이라고 할 수 있다. 그러나 서구 문화의 유입으로 인한 사회 구조의 변화로 말미암아 생활문화의 근간을 이루어 왔던 유기를 비롯한 금속식기 문화의 전통은 무형문화재에 의해 간신히 그 전통을 이어가는 형편이다. 이것은 서양문화의 무분별한 수용과 전통문화의 계승, 발전에 대한 노력의 부족으로 인한 결과라 할 수 있다. 본 논문의 연구 과제는 단순히 전승되고 있는 전통문화를 우리의 참 문화로 새롭게 창출하고자 하는 의식과 전통공예문화의 참다운 계승, 발전에 대한 관심에서 비롯되었다. 공정 과정이 까다롭고 복잡한 옻칠의 칠 과정을 단순화 시키려 힘썼으며, 금속공예에 있어 가장 수공예 적이라 할 수 있는 단금기법으로 식기를 제작함으로서 수공예의 온기를 일상생활에서 접할 수 있도록 노력하였다.

영문 초록

The rapidly changing lifestyle in modern society has influenced the food culture and the perception of tableware has shifted accordingly. Tableware is no longer a mere tool that helps us to eat but a craft that is expected to bring happiness and decorate our lives. This study begins from this change of perception on tableware. Metal tableware, including the commonly used brassware, had led the lifestyle with other crafts until the Joseon Dynasty representing the Korean 'beauty' that is a minglement of national sentiment and aesthetic sense. However, today, due to the introduction of Western culture that has brought social structure change, brassware and other metal tableware cultures and traditions are barely carrying on the legacy. This may have resulted from the undiscerning acceptance of Western culture and lack of effort to inherit and develop cultural traditions. This study begins from the awareness to recreate the traditional culture which is being merely transmitted, and the interest in the true succession and development of traditional craft culture. This study endeavors to simplify the delicate and complicated painting process of Ottchil and experiencing the warmth of handicraft in daily life by using raising technique which could be referred as the most handicraft technique in metal craft to create tableware.
