국문 초록

본 연구는 우리나라 상장기업들을 대상으로 운전자본관리가 기업신용등급에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 기업신용등급은 2003년부터 2013년까지 한국신용평가(주)의 등급 자료로부터 수집하였다. 최소자승법 및 순차적 로짓회귀분석 방법을 사용하여 실증분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 운전자본관리 정책측면에서 보수적인 운전자본관리 정책을 펴는 기업들이 기업신용등급에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 운전자본의 구성요인에서 매출채권, 재고자산 및 매입채무가 통계적으로 유의하게 기업신용등급의 결정요인으로 나타났다. 매출채권과 재고자산은 기업신용등급에 긍정적인 영향을 미치고, 반대로 매입채무는 기업신용등급에 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 기업특성요인 중에서 변동성, 레버리지비율, 기업규모 및 자기자본이익률이 기업신용등급의 결정요인이 되는 것으로 나타났다. 기업규모와 자기자본이익률은 기업신용등급에 긍정적인 영향을 미치고, 변동성과 레버리지비율은 기업신용등급에 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 분석결과는 운전자본관리 정책과 운전자본의 구성요소가 기업신용등급에 영향을 미친다는 것을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study examined the effects of working capital management on the corporate credit ratings in Korean listed firms. Corporate credit ratings of Korean firms are collected from Korea investor service(KIS)'s ratings for the period 2003~2013. The empirical results by using OLS and ordered logit models can be summarized as follows. First, the firms with conservative policy have a positively effect on the corporate credit ratings in the aspects of short-term financial policy. Second, we found that accounts receivable, inventory and accounts payable as statistically significant determinants of corporate credit ratings in the working capital. Accounts receivable and inventory have positively effect on the corporate credit ratings, but accounts payable has negatively effect on the corporate credit ratings. Third, this study also reported volatility, leverage, firm size and ROE as statistically significant determinants of corporate credit rating in the firm's characteristics. Firm size and ROE have positively effect on the corporate credit ratings. But volatility and leverage have negatively effect on the corporate credit ratings. This empirical evidence suggests that working capital policy and the elements of working capital affect the corporate credit ratings.
