신어의 인칭 접미사 연구

국문 초록

신어는 당대의 사회상을 적극적으로 반영하는 언어 단위이며 언어 단위의 생산성을 확인해 볼 수 있는 유용한 단위이다. 본고에서는 1994년부터 2014년까지 공개된 국립국어원의 ‘신어 자료집’에서 인칭 접미사를 찾고 이들의 의미를 세분화하였다. 이들 접미사는 사전에 등재된 인칭 접미사와 신어 자료집을 통해 등장한 접미사로 나눌 수 있었다. 기존의 사전에 등재된 순우리말 인칭 접미사이면서 신어 자료집에 등장하는 접미사는 의미적으로 기존의 것과 차이가 없었으며 어기와의 결합 과정에서도 큰 차이가 없었다. 반면 기존의 한자어 인칭 접미사가 한자어 어기와 결합한 것과 달리 신어 형성 인칭 접미사는 한자어 어기뿐만 아니라 순우리말, 어절, 구, 외래어 등도 어기로 선택하였다. 이러한 사실은 신어 한자어 인칭 접미사의 파생 규칙이나 의미가 자의적이고 개별적으로 변화함을 보여주고 있다. 외래어 인칭 접미사의 경우도 선택되는 어기가 불규칙적이어서 파생 규칙의 형식화가 불가능하였다. 이는 외래어 접미사가 대상에 대한 신체, 행위, 태도, 인격 등에 대한 말할이의 주관적이고 개별적인 가치 평가를 반영하기 때문에 발생함을 알 수 있었다. 결론적으로 신어 형성 인칭 접미사는 의미적으로 상대방에 대한 주관적인 가치 평가를 반영하였으며 불규칙한 분포를 취하여 파생 규칙 도출 과정에 어려움이 있음을 확인하였다. 신어 형성 과정에서 주관적인 가치 평가라는 인칭 접미사의 역할은 앞으로도 확대될 것으로 추측된다.

영문 초록

Neologism is a mirror that reflects the contemporary social aspect most actively. In particular, neologism is also a useful unit enable to affirm the productivity of the language unit. In this paper, looking for a personal suffix from “the source book of neologism” of the National Institute of the Korean Language disclosed to the public from 1994 to 2014, and their meaning was segmentalized. These suffixes could be classified as a personal suffix listed in the dictionary and a suffix appeared through the source book of neologism. The suffix which appeared in the source book of neologism as well as listed in the existing dictionary as a personal suffix did not vary significantly with those of the existing, and the big difference did not follow in combination process with the root. In the case of the Chinese character suffix, it was viewed that it(a suffix) can take any root if it does not depart significantly from the original meaning of the Chinese character itself. Unlike the existing Chinese character personal suffix combined with the Chinese character root, in the case of the personal suffix, it also selected pure Korean, clause, phrase, sentence, loanword and so forth as the root as well as the Chinese character root. This fact shows that the derived rule or meaning of the neologism Chinese personal suffix changes very thetically and individually. In the case of the loanword personal suffix, because of the irregularity of the selected root, it was not possible to ensure the regularity of derivation rule. This was found to be due to the loanword suffix reflects the subjective and individual assessment of the value of the speaker to the body, action, attitude, personality, etc. of the subject. In conclusion, since the personal suffix analyzed in the neologism reflects a subjective valuation on the other side except a pure Korean, it was confirmed to be difficult to draw the a regular derivation rule through taking irregular distribution. In future, it is assumed the role of the personal suffix as a subjective valuation in the process of forming the neologism is to be expanded a little more.
