국문 초록

바울의 복음에 따르면, 할례나 안식일과 같은 율법의 행위들로 대표되는 유대교적인 질서는 옛 세대의 질서이고 그리스도의 종말론적인 오심으로 이 옛 질서는 종결되었다. 이런 종말론적인 평가는 헬라 철학에 대해서도 동일하게 적용된다. 옛 질서는 율법의 행위나 철학적 지혜와 같은 '육체에 속한 것'을 자랑하는 것을 특징으로 한다. 이것은 피조물을 절대화하는 우상숭배로서 십자가는 이런 피조물의 신격화를 분쇄한다. 이와 같은 바울의 종말론적인 관점은 유대주의자들의 분노를 불러오고 그리스도 교회에 대한 핍박을 야기했다. 이것이 바울이 말한 바 '십자가의 거리끼는 것'의 의미이다(갈 5:11). 바울의 십자가의 복음은 과학적 이성과 과학기술이라는 현대의 우상을 폭로한다. 교회는 이성의 절대화를 비판하면서, 그리스도의 계시만이 절대적인 문화의 기초임을 주장한다. 과학기술에 인간성을 종속시키는 오늘의 흐름에 대항하여, 교회는 기술적인 제도와 문화 아래 억압된 인간성을 회복하기 위해서 싸운다. 교회는 세상 권세에 대해서 거리낌이 된다. 이것의 의미는 무엇인가? 재세례파의 입장에 선 스탠리 하우어워스와 윌리몬은 교회가 세상 속에서의 하늘나라의 식민지, 대안 공동체임을 역설하면서, 세상질서와의 타협을 콘스탄티누스적인 전략으로 비판한다. 반면, 개혁파의 입장은 세상과 교회의 대립과 갈등을 강조하지만, 세상 권세를 창조질서의 일부로 이해하고 이것으로부터의 분리가 아니라 이것의 변혁을 주장한다. 세상은 비록 악할지라도 하나님의 선한 창조이며 은총 아래 있다는 개혁파적인 입장이 바울의 종말론적인 복음에 부합하며, 세상은 전적으로 부패하여 여기서 탈출하여 나와야 한다는 재세례파의 입장보다 세상의 악에 대해 더 철저히 비판할 수 있다.

영문 초록

According to Paul's gospel, Jewish order, represented by works of the law, for example, circumcision or Sabbath, is of the old aeon, and it has been brought an end by the eschatological coming of Christ. This eschatological evaluation was applied to the Greek philosophy. The old order is characterized by boasting of 'thing which belong to the flesh', that is, works of the law or philosophical wisdom. It means the idolatry as deification of creature, which has been crushed by the cross of Christ. Such a perspective of Paul caused the anger of Jewish people so that the persecution of Christ's church took place. This is the meaning of 'the scandal of the cross'(Gal. 5:11). Paul's gospel of the cross discloses the modern idols of the scientific reason and technology. Christ's church criticizes the deification of the reason and maintains that the revelation of Christ is the absolute base for the modern culture. Against the contemporary trend which subordinates humanity to the technology, the church of Christ fights for the restoration of the suppressed humanity. The church of Christ is the scandal to the power of the world. What means it?Stanley Hauerwas and William H. Willimon, who stand on the Baptist position, insist that the church of Christ is the colony of the heaven, counter-community and criticize the compromise with the world as the Constantine strategy. However, the Reformed position understands the worldly power as the part of the creaturely order and maintains not the separation from the world, but its transformation, although it emphasizes the antithesis and struggle of church with the world. The Reformed position, that the world is the good creation and is under God's favor, although it is evil, corresponds to the eschatological gospel of Paul and can criticize more radically the evil of the world than the Baptist position which insists that Christians should come out of the world, since it is totally corrupted.
