국문 초록

첨단 디지털 시대에 고전문학을 디지털 미디어의 특성을 활용해 어떻게 교육할 것인가? 우선 고전소설이나 판소리의 숱한 이본들은 근대소설처럼 완성되거나 고정된 텍스트가 아니라 작자와 독자 혹은 창자와 청중 간의 끊임없이 변하는 상호소통방식의 통로를 지니고 있다는 것이다. 이는 고전소설이나 판소리가 디지털 시대에 맞는 유동적인 텍스트임을 입증하는 것이다. 디지털 미디어의 상호소통방식을 활용하여 고전소설의 결말을 새롭게 써 봄으로써 고전소설의 텍스트를 온전히 이해하게 되며 창작교육의 효과도 거둘 수 있는 것이다. 다음으로 고전소설의 환상성은 근대 리얼리즘의 척도로는 잴 수 없는 비현실적인 요소를 지니고 있다. 실상 환상성은 이성과 과학이 중시되던 근대사회의 억압성에 대한 저항이자 전복으로서 의미를 갖는다. 고전소설에 나타나는 환상성의 요소는 근대 리얼리즘의 척도에서는 미달된 것이지만 당시 민중들의 꿈과 소망을 담았던 것이다. 오늘날의 판타지와 비교하면 당시는 현실과의 연관성이 중요하게 부각된다. 환상성이나 모험의 공식 등 판타지 장르의 문법을 활용하면 고전소설의 비현실성이나 환상성이 훨씬 재미있는 이야기로 읽혀질 것이다. 마지막으로 문학교육의 활용이란 관점에서 숱한 고전문학의 자료들이 디지털로 전환되어 언제 어디서나 쉽게 볼 수 있는 데이터베이스의 형태로 저장, 활용돼야 한다. 단순히 자료를 검색하는 것만이 아니라 구연 상황이나 작품의 환경까지 고려해 제공돼야 한다. 그래야만 교육 현장에서 손쉽게 문학교육의 자료로 활용되고 새로운 콘텐츠를 만들 수 있는 길까지 열어주게 되는 것이다.

영문 초록

How can we make it possible to teach classical novels utilizing the characteristics of sophisticated digital media? First of all, it should be noted that many versions of classical novels and Pansori (Korean narrative songs) are quite different from modern novels in that they do not have complete or fixed texts. Instead, they have maintained constantly changing channels of interactivity between writers and readers, and also narrators and audiences. This fact proves that classical novels and Pansori are mobile texts fitting the age of digital media. The application of interactivity enables us not only to rewrite the endings of classical novels but also fully understand the texts and improve the efficiency of creative education. Secondly, fantasy features inherently have unrealistic elements which cannot be measured by modern realism. In reality, fantasy features convey the meaning of resistance and overthrow against oppression of modern society which emphasizes rationality and science. Fantasy features from classical novels turn out to have enclosed the dreams and hopes of the people of those days. Fantasies of the past, when compared with today's fantasies, intended to highlight the connection of the realities of those days. The application of fantasy grammar, which includes fantasy features and adventures, can help readers to enjoy much more about unrealities and fantasies of classical novels. Finally, from the viewpoint of literature education, a great number of classical novel resources should be digitally converted and stored in the database, so that they may be easily accessed regardless of place and time. They should be available not only in browsing but also in giving information about performance situations and work environments. All being considered, it will be possible to utilize such resources in teaching literatures and also to open the way to create new content.
