어휘 의미의 확장 양상과 화용적 의미

국문 초록

이 논문은 어휘의미의 확장 양상과 수용 실태를 살피고, 그것의 화용적 특징에 대해 고찰한 것이다. 새로운 언어표현을 통한 참신성과 화자의 강조적인 발화의도 때문에 어휘의미의 확장이 양산되고 있다. 어휘의미의 확장은 극대화된 표현과 자극적 표현으로 나눌 수 있다. 이는 언중이 어휘의미를 극대화시켜 발화하는 경향이 강하고, 감각에 호소하는 자극적인 표현이 빈번해졌기 때문이다. 즉 더 신선하고 더 강력한 발화효과를 위해 언중은 점점 더 확장된 표현을 찾게 되었고, 이것이 극대화되고 자극적인 어휘의미를 양산한 것이다. 어휘의미의 확장과 그에 따른 의미의 수용에서는 어휘의미의 하향평준화와 기본의미의 희석과 확장의미의 고착화 현상을 살펴보았다. 극대화된 언어표현을 빈번히 수용하는 언중은 어휘의미가 갖고 있는 극대화된 의미를 하향평준화하여 사용한다. 그리고 이러한 현상은 어휘의 기본의미를 퇴화시키면서 새로 파생된 확장의미를 강화하는 결과를 가져온다. 어휘의미의 확장에는 어휘의미의 지속적인 변화가 내재되어 있다. 그리고 어휘의 은유적 표현을 대중화하기도 한다. 그리고 어휘의미의 확장은 표현의 참신성을 추구하다 보니 의미범주의 제약을 받지도 않는다.

영문 초록

This thesis is represented using aspect of word's extension meaning and its real condition, and its pragmatic feature. The word's extension meaning is spread of media. These using is for a freshness of new language expression, and for an emphasis on speaker's utterance intention. The conclusion is the contents of the preceding summary present. First an extension using of word meaning is so crowded because of listener's desire searching for new expression and speaker's desire searching for good messaging of his intension. So an extension using of word meaning is revealed as maximized expression and provocative expression. As people want to show the strong expression, maximized expression or exaggeration expression piles up more and more. And provocative expression that titillated modern people's spirit of language is strong enough to effect of delivery of language expression or listener's cognition. Second People accept the maximized expression, and meaning of the maximized expression will be standardized downward. So the meaning of the maximized expression has become a common level or a little emphasized meaning. These situation can degrade a primary meaning of a word, and can strengthen a new meaning or extension meaning of it. Third, it is studied about pragmatic characteristic of extension word meaning. Extension using of word meaning inheres persistent change for word meaning's effective delivery and acceptance. And extension using of word meaning popularize a metaphorical expression. An extension using of metaphorical expression is frequently used, so it becomes an extension meaning. Lastly an extension using of word meaning searches for new expression, it can not be interrupted by limitation on meaning category. These new expression emphasizes discrimination of an existing expression and utterance's intension.
