영문 초록

To satisfy the expectation of meal receiver and social importance for the industry foodservice, this study paid attention to the role of nutritionist responsible for overall meal service and to important factors to determine the level of meal service. From the perspective of nutritionists, the present study attempted to examine the relationship between their job satisfaction recognized as a key index for productivity and empowerment as an influencing factor of job satisfaction. The study of this relationship will be helpful in understanding regarding how an organization will increase its performance such as productivity. Data were collected during a 12-day period from March 25 through April 5, 2010, using a convenience sampling method. Results showed that there were noticeable differences in job satisfaction as well as empowerment according to the job related characteristics. Although it has shown slight differences, the job satisfaction and the empowerment was generally higher in case of permanent position, higher position, longer period of foodservice and higher number of foodservice. In addition, an analysis of the relations between empowerment and job satisfaction indicated that all of the factors in empowerment had a big positive influencing power over job satisfaction. In other words, the job satisfaction goes higher when they make decisions and affect a job, and feel the meanings of the job.
