요양보호사의 성희롱피해경험이 직무스트레스에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 요양보호사의 성희롱피해실태를 알아보고 성희롱피해경험이 직무스트레스에 영향을 미치는지 탐구하였다. 연구는 2013년 10월-11월 동안 강원도 Y군내 노인장기요양시설에서 근무하는 요양보호사 260명을 대상으로 하였으며, 회수된 240부 설문지 중 부실응답 8부를 제외하고 232부를 분석하였다. 자료는 기술통계, t-test, 다중회귀분석을 실시하였는데, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 요양보호사 중 38.0%가 근무 중 성희롱을 경험했고, 피해 횟수는 1회~2회가 54.8%로 가장 높았고, 9회 이상도 13.1%로 나타났다. 요양시설 요양보호사의 성희롱피해가 56.1%로 재가시설의 24.4%보다 2배 이상 높았다. 둘째, 성희롱가해자는 남성이 91%, 기혼, 치매환자, 3등급이 가장 많은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 성희롱 피해경험의 문항평균(5점만점)은, 신체적성희롱 2.18, 언어적성희롱 2.05, 시각적성희롱이 1.93으로 신체적성희롱 점수가 가장 높았다. 넷째, 직무스트레스의 문항평균(5점만점)은 개인역할 일상업무가 2.62, 동료관계가 2.36, 시설 및 상사관계가 2.05, 클라이언트관계가 2.69로 클라이언트관계가 가장 높았다. 다섯째, 인구사회학적 변수를 통제한 상태에서, 시각적성희롱(β=.446), 신체적성희롱 (β=.399), 언어적성희롱(β=.373)과 성희롱전체는 (β=.473) 모두 직무스트레스에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과를 바탕으로, 성희롱예방과 대처를 위한 실천적, 정책적 방안을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

This study intended to investigate the effect of sexual harassment(SH) on job stress among care-givers for the elderly in the long-term care facilities. The subjects were 240 care-givers from Y county, Gangwon-do and the 232 responses from the survey conducted during October-November in 2013 were used for data analyses. Descriptive statistics, t-test, and multiple regression were performed by the use of SPSS win 18.0 version. Study results are as follows. First, 38.0% care-givers experienced sexual harassment, 54.8% with 1-2 times, but 13.1% with more than 5 times. 56.1% of care-givers from nursing care facilities experienced SH which was more than two times than 24.4% from visiting care facilities. Second, for perpetrators, 91.1% were men and groups with the highest frequency were the married, the elderly over 80 years old, with dementia, 3rd degree under disability classification system for long-term care. Third, mean scores in the SH sub-scales were 2.18 for physical SH, 2.05 for verbal SH, and 1.93 for visual SH. Fourth, mean scores in the Job Stress sub-scales were 2.62 for personal duty, 2.36 for peer relations, 2.05 for supervisor relations, and 2.69 for relations with client. Fifth, physical SH(β=.399), verbal SH(β=.373), and visual SH(β=.446) were statistically significant predictors for job stress in regression models, controlling socio-demographic variables. Total SH was a statistically significant predictor for job stress, controlling control variables. Visual SH was the most powerful and statistically significant predictor for job stress than physical SH and verbal SH when put together into the regression model. Based upon the study results, the several practice and policy recommendations for prevention of and intervention for sexual harassment among care-givers were suggested.
