국문 초록

본 연구는 유아기 미취학 연령의 자녀를 둔 취업모의 유아교육기관 선택 요인을 분석하여 취업모의 효과적인 유아교육기관의 서비스 이용을 위한 지원방안을 논의하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 한국복지패널 제7차(2012년) 자료를 이용하여, 만 3-5세 미취학자녀가 있는 취업모 185명을 대상으로 개인적/사회경제적 특성에 따른 유아교육기관 선택의 차이와 영향을 교차분석과 다항로지스틱 회귀분석을 통해 살펴보았다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 취업모의 인구사회학적 배경 중 배우자의 연령, 취업모의 학력, 미취학 자녀의 연령, 주택 점유형태에 따라 유아교육기관 선택에 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 취업모의 직업 및 경제적 배경 중 배우자의 정규직 여부 및 사업장 규모, 가구소득, 전체 생활비 중 사교육비 차지비율에 따라 유아교육기관 선택에 차이가 있었다. 셋째, 유아교육기관 중 어린이집에 다니는 그룹과 유치원에 다니는 그룹을 비교분석한 결과, 인구사회학적 배경 중에서는 취업모의 자녀수와 미취학 자녀의 연령이 기관선택에 유의한 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타났다. 또한 직업・경제적 배경 중 총 생활비 중 사교육비 차지비율, 년 가구소득, 취업모의 정규직 여부가 유아교육기관 선택에 영향을 미치며 그 영향력은 각기 달랐다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 취업모의 직업군별 혹은 지역별 취업모의 요구에 기반한 맞춤형 지원 정책 개발 필요성 등이 논의되었다.

영문 초록

The current study aimed to analyze the determination factors of working mothers with young children when they decide the service of early childhood institute for their children. For this study, 283 working mothers were chosen from the data of 5th Korea Welfare Panel Study. To analyze the research questions, chi-square and multi-logistic regression were employed by using SPSS19.0program. The results were as follows: First, working mothers of the choice differed from husbands’ ages, mothers’ academic level, children’s ages, and the characteristics of house payment, i.e. monthly or yearly rental and house owner. Second, it showed the difference in choosing the early childhood services in their socio-economic characteristics, particularly depending on their husbands’ job security(permanent or temporality job) and the scale of working place, salary, and the percentage of private educational tuition. Third, it revealed that the number of children and their ages, percentages of private educational tuition, and the mothers’ work conditions were significant factors to give effects on their choice of early childhood services. Based on the results, the several things were discussed to support the policies such like making services programs and supporting systems based on the needs of working mothers.
