재비행청소년의 사회적 유능성 증진 프로그램 효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 재비행청소년의 사회적 자기효능감, 사회적 문제해결능력, 사회적 적응을 조력하기 위한 사회적 유능성 증진 프로그램 효과를 검증해 보고자 하였다. 비행청소년의 재범률의 주요 원인은 사회 복귀 후 사회적 재적응의 실패에 있다. 본 연구는 비행청소년의 재범률을 억제하기 위해 선행되고 있는 사회적 유능성 증진 프로그램을 재구조화, 수정 및 보완하여 사용하였다. 아울러 이에 대한 결과로서 사회적 유능성과 사회적 적응에 대한 효과 및 변화를 검증했다. 본 프로그램은 경기도에 소재한 S소년원에서 재비행청소년 남학생 총 32명을 대상으로 주 2회, 매 회기 100분씩, 총 10회기, 8주 동안을 진행했다. 사회적 유능성 증진 프로그램(SCEP)의 내용은 재비행청소년이 삶의 주체로서 자신을 통제하고, 사회적 문제와 갈등 상황에서 직면하여 자신과 타인의 감정과 문제를 이해하고, 나아가 실제 생활에서 효율적ㆍ효과적인 사회적 문제해결방법을 탐색하고 시연하기 등을 구조화하여 진행하였다. 본 사회적 유능성 증진 프로그램의 효과를 평가하기 위해 사회적 자기효능감척도(SSES), 사회적 문제해결능력척도(ASPS), 사회적 적응척도(SAS)를 사용하여 t 검증을 실시한 후 1개월 후 추적조사를 진행하였다. 그 결과, 사전-사후 검사에서는 상담집단은 통제집단보다 사회적 자기효능감과 사회적 문제해결능력이 유의한 증가를 보였지만, 사회적 적응에서는 두 집단 모두 유의한 효과가 나타나지 않았다. 사전-추수 검사에서는 사회적 자기효능감, 사회적 문제해결능력, 사회적 적응에서 유의하게 나타났다. 마지막으로, 연구의 제한점과 추후 연구에 대한 방향을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the social competence enhancement program which improves social efficacy and social adjustment of juvenile offenders in order to prevent recidivism. The juvenile delinquency recidivism has been caused by the failure of social readjustment after rehabilitation. This study reocomposed, modified, and complemented the previously used Social Competence Enhancement Program in order to abstain juvenile delinquents from reoffending. Also, it tried to testify the effects and change of social competence and social adjustment as outcome measures. Thirty male participants were recruited from S. Youth Detention Center located in Kyonggi Province and randomly assigned to either a counselling group (n=16) or a control group (n=16). Both groups attended a total of 10 sessions (100 minutes twice a week) over a 8-week period. The social competence enhancement program (SCEP) entailed controlling self as initiator of his own life, understanding not only his own emotions and problems but also others' in social problem and conflict siltations, and exploring and practicing the efficient and effective ways of problem-solving in real life. The outcome measures used were the Social Self-Efficacy Scale (SSES), the Ability of Social Problem-Solving Scale (ASPS), and the Social Adjustment Scale (SAS). This Social Competence Enhancement Program was assessed at t-test and 1 month follow-up. As a result, the t-test indicated that the self-efficacy scale and the ability of social problem-solving scale were significantly increased in the counseling group compared with the control group, but the social adjustment scale was not in both groups. At 1 month follow-up study, the self-efficacy scale, the ability of social problem-solving scale, and the social adjustment scale were significantly increased in the counseling group compared with the control group. The following implications and limitations of this study were discussed along with the suggestions for future studies as well.
