살인범들에 대한 불안조절 프로그램

국문 초록

이 연구는 여타 다른 범죄들보다 상대적으로 수감생활이 긴 살인범죄자들이 수용 기간 내 각종 교정사고 등의 문제를 덜 발생시키고, 시설에 잘 적응할 수 있도록 불안상황을 극복하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 또한, 우리나라처럼 살인범죄자들에 대한 교정 시설 내 처우 프로그램의 실시경험이나 프로그램 효과에 대한 연구가 거의 전무한 상황에서 체계화된 교정처우 프로그램을 시도했다는 것에 의의가 있다. 참가자들은 경기도 소재 ○○구치소에 수감 중인 살인범죄자 17명을 대상으로 1차적으로 교정심리검사를 실시하고 그 중에서 프로그램 참여의사를 밝힌 5명이 대상이 되었고, 불안수준을 알기 위해서 기질불안 검사를 했다. 불안을 기질불안과 상태불안으로 나눌 수 있는데, 상태불안은 생리적인 작용과 같이 단시간에 나타나는 불안을 말하고, 기질불안은 어릴 때부터 형성된 즉, 아주 오랫동안 만들어져 온 성격특성의 일부처럼 지속적인 것을 말한다. 프로그램은 전 7회기로, 매주 2회 실시했으며, 1회당 2시간여 시간이 소요되었다. 결과는 프로그램 과정의 내용을 분석하여 산출하였다. 왜냐하면, 사전검사로 사용한 기질불안 검사가 대상자 각각이 평균점수를 얻어서, 사후검사에 사용하기에 적절하지 않을 것으로 판단하여 사후검사는 따로 평가하지 않았다. 내용분석을 통해서, 5명의 참가자들을 공격행위 유형에 따라 분류하였고, 사전검사에서 실시하였던 기질불안의 4가지 구성요소에 따라 분류하였다. 대체로 상황적 불안과, 애매성 불안에 대해서는 회기가 진행됨에 따라, 시간의 경과에 따라 감소한 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 이들 프로그램 참여자들이 자신에게 일어나는 스트레스 사건에 대한 사회적으로 적절한 대처방법에 대해서도 논의하였다. 본 연구의 제한점은 사후검사를 실시하지 않아서 프로그램 후의 변화를 진행자의 전문성이라는 주관적인 판단에 의존하였다는 점과 특히 참여 대상자가 5명이라는 소수+인원으로 결과를 일반화하기에 무리가 따른다는 점을 들 수 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of a cognitive therapy program to reduce the trait anxiety of murderers and their adjustment in correctional settings. This kind of programs are very necessary especially for inmates committing homicides since they should be imprisoned much longer than other offenders. Participants in this study were 5 male murder offenders in a detention facility. Their anxiety level were pre-tested for the program. Besides anxiety psychological functions were assessed on the Correctional Psychological tests. The trait anxiety level of participants were moderate. The cognitive behavioral treatment program had seven sessions. The major contents of the program were declaration of the crime which participants committed and cognition corrections of autonomic negative and irrational thoughts. Based on the measures including sentence completion tests and overall process statements. this program had been proven to be effective to reduce anxiety of murderers. To see it scrupulously, "Suwon" suffered from alcohol addiction, "whistle Kyu" from alienation between ideal ego and actual ego, "doenjang" from life that has no plan and sense of value and that is monotonous, and loss of moral sense, "Jung am" from extremely patriarchic way of thinking, and "turtle" from identifying failure of second marriage with failure of life. Each one of them had realized that the reason of the problem is their own way of thinking, and discussed together. Considering Each type of wrath control, in case of "Suwon", understanding his control type is not ease thing, because he had committed accident with drunk, but based on his addiction to alcohol in every affair, he seems like excess control type. And "whistle Kyu", Jung Am", and "turtle" are also classified as excess control type. As we understand from theoretic backdrop, among the types of wrath control, excess control type related homicide case. But, "doenjang" has been classified as type of defective control, and that related violent case. It is the common thing that they does not know about way of controling faced case, and that they bear continually, but at the time when they cannot bear it, they burst into a rage. That is, they had not been trained by apt solution. As for anxiety of personal quality, like data which are classified on , "suwon", "whistle", and "doenjang" were fear of social circumstance, but "whistle" are alleviated from the fear . And "whistle" and "doenjang" who had anxiety about non-concrete obscurity were alleviated, and anxiety about ordinary life alleviated too. At last, implication, limitations and suggestions were made for the future studies of this kind.
