영문 초록

Human aesthetic needs to pursue standardized and universal beauty and, at the same time, include the expression of individuals' personality and taste. Nail art is one of the many approaches to meet these aesthetic needs and demands. In this industry, many people have been challenged to start their own business because of easy access. In addition, it is likely that a new occupation called 'nailist,' which was derived through the specification and specialization of beauty services, would keep growing because of shop diversification and advantage of launching a business with a small budget. As a nailist, you need to provide face-to-face services, meaning that it would bring emotional labor. Therefore, job stress would be relatively high. Since a nailist's job requires close observation and a caring mindset, strong stamina and mental health are required in this industry. This study investigated the job stress and emotional labor of nailists in Busan, Gyeongnam, and Daegu and found the following: Job satisfaction was relatively high. In terms of job stress by education, the highest level was observed in the college group (undergraduate and graduate). In average monthly income, job stress was high in the group of relatively low income. In terms of emotional labor levels by average monthly income, a high level was detected in 'less than KRW 1million' and 'KRW 3 million or more.' In terms of emotional labor levels by job satisfaction, a relatively high level was found in the groups that responded 'dissatisfied' and 'not bad.' In addition, a statistically significant positive correlation was observed between job stress and emotional labor.
