국문 초록

본 연구는 국내ㆍ외 사교육공급자의 특성을 비교하고 국내ㆍ외 사교육기업의 해외진출 동향에 대한 정보를 제공함으로써 사교육공급자에 대한 인식을 제고시키고 사교육공급자 관리에 필요한 시사점을 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 국내의 사교육공급자는 유형에 따라서 경영ㆍ교육서비스ㆍ강사실태ㆍ시장규모에 차이를 보였다. 둘째, 외국의 사교육공급자는 개인과외에서 사교육센터로, 최근에는 온라인 교육으로 더욱 다양해지고 있는 추세이며, 국가의 경제력에 따라서 상이한 특성을 보였다. 그리고 국내보다 외국의 비영리단체들이 교육격차 해소를 위해 사교육을 적극적으로 지원하고 있었다. 셋째, 국내ㆍ외 사교육기관들은 자율규제 활동을 통하여 사교육의 올바른 성장과 명성을 유지하고자 노력하고 있었다. 넷째, 국내ㆍ외 사교육기업의 해외진출은 증가하고 있는 추세이며, 특히 국내 사교육기업의 해외진출은 경제적ㆍ교육적 성과를 개선할 수 있다는 측면에서 의미가 있다. 이에 궁극적으로 국내ㆍ외 사교육공급자의 특성과 동향에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 공급자 관리를 좀 더 효율적으로 한다면 사교육의 역기능은 감소시키고 순기능은 강화할 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to provide the perspective that is need to manage the suppliers of private tutoring and improve the recognition on the suppliers of private tutoring by providing comparison on the characteristics of domestic and foreign private tutoring suppliers and the trend of their overseas expansion. The findings of the study are as follows. First, domestic private tutoring suppliers showed difference in managementㆍeducation serviceㆍinstructer conditionㆍmarket size according to their types. Second, the trend of foreign private tutoring suppliers shifted from private tutoring to private learning center and, most recently, online education, and they showed great difference according to each country s national economic status. Also, non-profit organizations in foreign countries were actively providing private tutoring to mitigate the educational gap more than domestic organizations. Third, the private tutoring enterprises of both domestic and foreign countries showed efforts for upright development and to maintain positive reputations through self-regulated activities. Fourth, the trend is that the number of the private tutoring enterprise in both domestic and foreign that expands overseas are growing, and overseas expansion of the domestic private tutoring enterprises can be meaningful in the aspect of possible improvement in both economical and educational performance. Ultimately, if the private tutoring suppliers can be managed more effectively through the basis of understanding on the characteristics and the trend of the private tutoring suppliers in both domestic and foreign, then it is safe to expect to reduce the side effects of private tutoring and to enhance its proper function.
