국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 청소년기 손자녀의 지각측면에서, 친조부모와의 주관적 유대관계(조부-손자녀 관계의 질, 조모-손자녀 관계의 질), 객관적 유대관계(접촉빈도, 공유활동), 규범적 유대관계(조부모 역할인지, 손자녀 역할인지)를 부모-조부모 관계의 질을 중심으로 고찰해 보는 것이다. 부산시에 거주하는 중ㆍ고등학생 414명을 대상으로 조사한 결과 첫째, 모-조부관계의 질은 조부-손자녀 관계의 질에, 모-조모/부-조모관계의 질은 조모-손자녀 관계의 질에 직접적인 영향을 미치며, 손자녀 역할인지와 공유활동을 통해 간접적으로도 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 모-조부/모-조모관계의 질은 조부모-손자녀간의 객관적 유대관계인접촉빈도와 공유활동의 결정요인이었으며 세째, 모-조부 관계의 질은 조부모 역할인지와 손자녀 역할인지를 결정하는 요인으로 작용하고 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 이상의 본 연구결과를 통해, 부모들은 조부모-손자녀 유대관계에 결정적인 영향력을 갖는 중간세대이며, 특히 모의 역할이 상당히 중요하다는 사실을 알 수 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this research is to investigate the effects of parents' role for the grandparent-grandchild relationship. A survey was adiministered to 414 adolescent grandchildren living in Pusan. The main results of this study were as follows : 1) Mother-grandfather relationship quality had effects on both perceptions of grandparent and grandchild role. 2) The quality of mother-grandmother /grandfather relationship was found to be the strongest predictor of both contact and shared activities of grandparent- grandchild. 3) Mother-grandmother and father-grandmother relationship quality effected on the the quality of grandmother-grandchild relationship and mother-grandfather relationship quality influenced on the quality of grandfather-grandchild relationship directly. Also, mother-grandfather relationship quality effected on the quality of grandchild-grandmother /grandfather relationship indirectly via perception of grandchild role and mother-grandmother /grandfather relationship quality influenced on the quality of grandchild-grandmother /grandfather relationship indirectly through shared activities. These results suggest that parents' role, mothers' role in particular, is critical in determining relationships between grandparent and grandchild.
