어머니 우울이 영유아의 부정적 정서성에 미치는 영향에서 양육 스트레스의 매개효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 어머니의 우울감이 영유아의 부정적 정서성에 영향을 미치는 데 있어서 영유아기 어머니의 양육 스트레스가 매개적 역할을 하는가를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 육아정책연구소에서 시행한 2009년도 한국아동패널 2차 자료 중 11개월에서 18개월(N=1904)에 해당되는 영유아를 양육하는 어머니를 대상으로 한 자료 중 어머니의 우울 척도, 영유아에 관한 부정적 정서성 척도와 어머니의 양육 스트레스 척도를 분석에 사용하였고, 자료 분석은 IBM-SPSS 20.0과 AMOS 18.0을 사용하여 구조방정식 모형을 적용하였다. 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 어머니의 우울이 양육 스트레스를 매개로 하여 영유아의 부정적 정서성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이때 어머니의 우울은 양육 스트레스를 통한 간접효과 뿐 아니라 영유아의 부정적 정서성에 대한 직접효과도 나타냈고, 연구모형인 부분매개모형이 경쟁모형과의 비교를 통해 보다 적합한 모형으로 지지되었다. 본 연구결과는 영유아의 부정적 정서성에 영향을 미치는 변인들 간의 관계성을 구체적으로 제시함으로써 예방과 중재에 대한 실질적 개입을 모색하도록 하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of maternal depression and infants' and toddlers' temperamental negative emotionality. In addition, to verify the mediating effects of maternal parenting stress between maternal depression and infants' and toddlers' temperamental negative emotionality. (N=1904) mothers having 11-month old to 18-month old infants who had been the participants of Korean Children's Panel Survey sponsored by Korea Institute of Child Care and Education, were asked to complete self-administered questionnaires. This study used the scales of maternal depression, infants' and toddlers' temperamental negative emotionality, and maternal parenting stress. The summary of the results were as follows: First, in terms of maternal depression, maternal parenting stress and infants' and toddlers' temperamental negative emotionality were positively related. Second, maternal parenting stress was proved to have significant partial mediating effect on the relationship between maternal depression and infants' and toddlers' temperamental negative emotionality. Through this study, we assessed the mediating importance of maternal parenting stress between maternal depression and infants' and toddlers' temperamental negative emotionality.
