'국민'의 상상과 '비국민'의 기억

국문 초록

본고의 목적은 일제말기의 창작방법이 해방 이후 어떠한 방식으로 수용되고 혹은 굴절, 변용되었는지를 살펴보는 것이다. 특히 일제말기 '친일' 담론을 적극적으로 내면화했던 장덕조를 중심으로 식민지성이 해방의 시공간 속에서 어떻게 굴절, 변용되었는지를 밝히고자 한다. 장덕조의 일제말기 일본어 소설과 해방 후 소설에 나타난 모성의 모습은 그것이 제국의 논리와 '나라 만들기'라는 민족적 과제에 적극적으로 부응하고 있다는 점에서 동일한 작동원리를 지닌다. 그것은 제국과 민족이라는 대타자의 욕망에 편입하려는 시도이며 동시에 불가능한 것을 상상해냄으로써 시대의 과제를 분유하려는 몸부림이다. 장덕조의 일제말기 일본어 소설과 해방 이후 소설은 획일적 모성의 상상을 강요하고 있다. '친일' 담론의 수리라는 측면에서 본다면 일제말기 '친일'담론과 해방 후 '나라 만들기'라는 담론은 모성을 같은 방식으로 포획하고 상상하였다고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study investigates how the way of creative writing in the late colonial period was internalized, refracted or transformed. In particular, this paper focuses on Jang Duk-jo who actively internalized the discourse of "pro-Japanese" in the late colonial period. And it deals with how the Pro-Japanese discourse was bended and changed in the spatio-temporal background of liberation from the Japanese rule. The motherhood represented in Jang's Japanese fiction and his Korean fiction after the liberation works under the same principle because both fictions actively respond to the colonialism and the national issue to build "new country." They desperately seek to assimilate the desire of "the Other" and share simultaneously the contemporary's challenges by means of imagining the impossible. Both of his fictions force the readers to imagine the uniformed motherhood. In terms of compensating his pro-Japanese discourse, his new discourse to establish "new country" capture and imagine the motherhood as it did before.
