인간 유전체 연구에 대한 윤리-신학적 관점

국문 초록

일부 선진국이 '맞춤형' 아기의 생산도 법적으로 허용하면서, 새로운 유전 기술을 경쟁적으로 연구하고 인간 유전체에게 적용하며 그리하여 유전적 난치병 치료와 약품 생산의 영역에서, 그리고 더 나아가 유전적 기능 강화의 영역에서 새로운 윤리적 문제들을 일으키고 있다. 무엇보다도 먼저, 인간적 의무와 그 권리 차원에서 유전자 이상-결함의 판단 기준을 세우고, 연구의 대상들과 주체들과 그 가족 그리고 모든 시민들이 속한 사회 공동체 안에서 얻을 유익과 지불할 희생에 대한 모종의 합리적 비율을 가능한 한 정확하게 찾아야 하겠다. 결국 이 모든 것은 인간 유전체와 관련된 인간 위격의 개념적 정의에서 출발하게 되겠다. 윤리신학, 특히 요한바오로 2세의 창세기 해석에 따르면, 인간 위격은 몸과 영혼이 결합된 생명체로서, 하느님을 닮은 모습으로 자기 자신을 위해 창조된 유일한 존재이다. 그런 까닭에, 그의 정체는 인간 본성과 유사한 하느님의 본성에 따라 땅에 대한 책임있는 경영과 아낌없이 자신을 선물함 없이는 완전히 밝혀지지 않는다. 그러나 인간 생명 자체는 신성하고 보호되어야 하지만, 다른 이를 위한 대상이나 수단이 아니라면, 스스로 자유롭게 공동선에 기여하고자 한다면, 그리고 생식세포 치료가 아니라면, 공동체의 각자는 비례정의에 따라 새로운 유전적 치료 연구에 참여할 수 있고 생식세포의 치료가 아니라면 스스로를 새로운 기술에 적용하도록 허용할 수 있다.

영문 초록

Permitting legally even to product 'designer baby', some developed countries study and apply competitively new genetic technologies to the human genome and therefore give rise new ethical issues in the area of genetic incurable diseases and drug products, and further in the area of genetic enhancement. In the dimensions of human rights and obligations, first of all, we should establish the criteria on the disordered and defected human genome in the relations of social community to which belong all parties of citizens, for example, objects and theirs families and subjects of one's study, and find out a certain reasonable rate as precision as possible between benefits to get and victims to pay. Eventually, all of these things can be begun with a precise conceptual definition on human person concerning human genome. According to the moral theology, especially to the analysis of Genesis by John Paul II, human person as a living being consisted of body and soul is the only creature on the earth in the image and likeness of God the Creator, who God willed for itself. For that reason, his identity cannot be fully found except through a sincere gift of himself and through his responsible government of the earth according to the divine nature similar to human nature. The human life itself is sacred and must be protected. However, if it is not treated as a object or means of other one and if its person wants to contribute freely itself to the common good, each one of the community according to the proportional justice could share in new genetic therapy study and allow itself be applied to new genetic technologies except genetic treatments of reproductive cell(gamete).
