유아의 마음이론 및 어머니의 언어통제가 유아의 사회적 유능감에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아의 성과 연령에 따른 마음이론, 어머니의 언어통제 유형 및 유아의 사회적 유능감의 차이와 마음이론 및 어머니의 언어통제 유형이 유아의 사회적 유능감에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 110명의 유아와 그들의 어머니를 대상으로 자료를 수집하고 분석하였다. 연구 결과 마음이론 발달에서 성과 연령차가 나타났으며, 어머니의 언어통제 유형과 유아의 사회적 유능감에서 성차가 나타났다. 마음이론과 사회적 유능감과의 관계에서 마음이론의 하위 요소인 믿음이해와 대인관계기술과는 정적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났고, 어머니의 언어통제 유형의 명령지향적 언어통제와 사회적 유능감의 대인관계 기술, 사회적 규범이해에서 부적 상관이 나타났다. 마음이론과 어머니의 언어통제 유형이 사회적 유능감에 미치는 영향력을 알아본 결과 어머니의 명령지향적 언어통제가 유아의 사회적 유능감의 정서조절, 정서성, 사회적 규범이해에 영향을 미치는 변인이며, 어머니의 명령지향적 언어통제와 믿음이해가 대인관계기술에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 유아의 사회적 유능감 증진을 위한 계획에 있어서 성차를 고려하여야 하며, 마음이론과 어머니의 언어통제가 유아의 사회적 유능감에 영향을 미치고 있으므로 이를 사회적 유능감 증진에 필요한 요인으로 다룰 수 있음을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to find out the effect of young children's theory of mind and mother's language control patterns on young children's social competence and the difference between theory of mind, mother's language control patterns, and social competence according to young children's gender and age. 110 young children and their mothers were analysed using several tests with rating scales. The results of this study showed gender and age difference in the theory of mind, in mother's language control patterns and in young children's social competence. A positive correlation and a negative correlation appeared in imperative-oriented control of the mother's language control patterns, in achievement of interpersonal skills for social competence, and in understanding of social norms. This study showed that theory of mind and mother's language control patterns were effective for young children's emotional control, emotionality, understanding of social norms, and trust understanding toward elevating young children's social competence. This study also showed that mother's imperative-oriented control was effective for young children's achievement of interpersonal skills. This study therefore implies that young children's gender and age difference should be considered for their social competence, and also that the theory of mind and mother's language control have affected young children's social competence, which should be treated as a necessary factor for social competence improvement.
