국문 초록

이 연구는 교육철학의 역사적 발달과정, 현재의 전개 양상 및 주요 주제, 앞으로의 전망, 교육철학의 연구 방법 등을 고찰함으로써 교육철학의 학문지도를 제시하는 것을 그 목적으로 한다. 교육철학은 인간이란 무엇이며 진ㆍ선ㆍ미의 가치는 무엇이며 어떻게 인간을 바람직한 방향으로 성장시킬 수 있는지에 대한 탐구와 실천으로서, 이는 인류의 역사와 그 맥을 같이 한다. 교육철학의 뿌리는 고대의 플라톤과 공자의 사상에서부터 찾아볼 수 있고, 근세의 루소, 칸트, 코메니우스를 통해 발달하였으며, 듀이와 분석철학에 의해 정립되었다. 이후 포스트모더니즘, 비판이론, 실존주의 등 다양한 이론과 관점을 통해 그 연구영역을 확장시켜 왔다. 교육철학 연구의 현황 및 정체성에 비추어 볼 때 교육철학의 핵심영역은 인간 탐구, 교육의 의미 탐구, 가치 탐구, 개인과 공동체에 관한 탐구 등이며 그 접근방법은 분석적, 규범적, 사변적, 해석적, 비판적 방법이라고 할 수 있다. 미래의 교육철학은 다양한 학문과 연구방법을 종합ㆍ활용하는 초융합적 접근방법으로 나아갈 것으로 예측되며, 앞으로 교육철학은 이론-실천이 긴밀하게 연결된 학문으로서 인간 삶의 가르침과 배움의 실천적 장을 통해 지속적으로 재구성되는 '가르침과 배움의 철학'으로 나아가야 한다.

영문 초록

This study deals with historical development, present situation and main subjects, the future aspects and the method of philosophy of education. In doing so, it aims to suggest a discipline map of philosophy of education. Philosophy of education is an inquiry and practice regarding what human being is, what the value of truth, goodness and beauty and how human being should be educated into good direction, so it is related with the history of human being. The root of philosophy of education can be discovered in the thoughts of Plato and Confucius in the ancient and it developed through Rousseau, Kant and Comenius and finally, it was founded by Dewey and analytic philosophy. Later, philosophy of education has broadened its fields through various theories and perspectives such as postmodernism, critical theory and existentialism. In the basis on the present study areas and its identity, core subjects of philosophy of education are inquiry into human being, the meaning of education, value on goodness and beauty and individuals and communities, and its method should be analytic, normative, speculative, hermeneutic and critical. Philosophy of education, in the future, is expected to utilize super-fusion method which synthesizes diverse disciplines and methods. Philosophy of education is a closely connected discipline between theory and practice, therefore it should be 'philosophy of teaching and learning' that is consistently reconstructed through the practical fields of teaching and learning in human lives.
